This album marks the return of Bernie Taupin (Elton's most prolific and acclaimed lyricist), which is reason enough for most fans to rejoice. Ironically, this is also his last album Elton released before he checked himself into rehab for multiple drug addictions (something he calls the biggest turning point in his life). When writing about Elton John and his music, it is difficult to not include Bernie Taupin, as the lyrics are typically so instrumental (pun intended) to the song as a whole.
