Disney VHS- Sleeping Beauty
I LOVE all the original Disney movies on VHS. I never buy DVDs because they are 1. more expensive and 2. they do not have that old school feel to it.

I ordered, and paid for, this item on December 12th. It did not arrive until December 28th! Santa had to write my four year old a note that explained the North Pole was out of Sleeping Beauty movies and that he would send one when they got more made.
Also, the clamshell case the movie came in was totally crushed and had letters written all over it in permanent marker. I know I bought a "used" VHS but I didn't expect it to be destroyed.
The VHS does play well.

I bought this movie because my 4 yr. old had all of the princess movies except for Sleeping Beauty. She decided she wanted to be Sleeping Beauty for Halloween this year (even though she had never seen the movie) so I found one online to purchase thru eBay. I like this movie because I remember it when I was a kid and it really makes my daughter happy watching it! The only thing I can think of that I dislike is that it is in VHS instead of DVD; because the cheapest I could find the DVD was $35...evidentally they are in the Disney vault for longer and the ones out are considered collectors. :o)

Sleeping Beauty (1997, VHS)I collect Disney vhs Movies, Sleeping Beauty is a must for collectors. A classic story about love and faith winning out in the end. Sleeping Beauty preserves hope through-out the story. Colors and art in this movie are excellent. Cartoons of today can't hold a candle to Disney's earlier films.

This is a great Disney Classic . . . a must have for Disney lovers!
Sleeping Beauty is charming, as is her prince.
Con: Parts of this movie might be too scary for some little kids.
If they get scared of things like the dogs on Bambi, they'll probably
enjoy Sleeping Beauty more when they get a bit older.

This video brought back so many memories... I purchased this video for my 3 year old niece who had been wanting it for a while... I couldn't find it in the stores and good ol' Ebay came through for me! The video was packaged beautifully and the quality of the movie was just as described. My niece and I have been watching Sleeping Beauty over and over since I gave it to her. I am one happy customer.

I got a good buy!I love old Disney movies and for a video it was in pretty good condition. The box was a little dirty, but they informed me of that before I bought it. The only problem that I had was that when I watched the movie the top of the screen was a greenish color like the film in the video was a little damaged. I was very pleased with my Sleeping Beauty video and I'm thankful I found it for such a good price!

I love this movie. It takes me back to 5th grade where I had the priviledge of playing Sleeping Beauty in a school play. I was sooooo nervous about the kiss that I had to "endure" when the Prince came to wake me up from my deep sleep but thankfully he was too....so our lips did not meet! Lol! It is such a wonderful story and a must have for every little princess.

Sleeping Beauty ( 1997 VHS ) Revisit a classicI love this VHS tape and yes VHS . There is something to be said about watching and having a video the way it was originally distributed. I bought this Tape to watch with my grandchildren, there is too much high tech violent movies out there today. I want my grandchildren to at least experience the classics like Sleeping Beauty, before they are introduced to todays ideas of entertainment. This particular Tape was original. still in the case and shrink wrap. A must for any parents home collection. The cover is beautifully illustrated with artwork, plays great, and tells a story familiar to most but revisiting it you will see scenes you didn't remember or tantalize the reminiscent side of all of us. Sleeping Beauty, a classic, animation techniques before its time, that make you almost forget your watching a " cartoon". I highly recommend a night at the home movies with your children or grandchildren and bring a little OLD TIME family into the home. RR

I re-watched Sleeping Beauty this weekend for the first time in years...I've been a critic of the recent Disney attempts to regain their former glory, and I needed some affirmation that the glory was EVER there. This film put those fears to rest. "Sleeping Beauty" is indeed a Masterpiece. Every part of the film is the epitome of animated storytelling. The story is at its most basic a tale of good versus evil, and all parts of the film grow from that dichotomy. This movie used to scare the living daylights out of me. I think Malificent may well be the most frightening villain ever to enter a Disney animated feature. The scene where Aurora pricks her finger is ethereally creepy, and the final battle between Prince Philip and Malificent is downright scary. For those reasons, I'm not sure that this movie is appropriate for children under five, and it may well scare children older than that. However, not all of the movie is so dark. The story centers around Aurora, a princess who is cursed by Malificent days after her birth. The evil witch declares that.

I got Sleeping Beauty on DVD 2 years ago when it came out. It s an old fashion Disney movie that I had to add to my collection and after watching it a few times I shelved it before reviewing. It so last week I decided to watch this again so I could go back and review this is what I think. Sleeping Beauty was released in the late 50 s, way before my time at least. At the time the animation was pretty ground breaking with stylized pictures that took full advantage of the wide screen ratio. It was a hit, and it s a timeless classic.
