I bought this because my daughters (age 3) have Aurora and other Sleeping Beauty toys but had never seen the movie. I wanted them to know their story. And not only do they enjoy the movie but their 4 year old brother does as well. We have a huge movie selection and this is one of their favorites!
It is an all time classic disney movie!! I have loved this one since I was a little girl! Classic princess and prince story with the evil dragon/queen a true fairytale and love story!
This seller would NOT leave me alone about my comment on the condition of the "new" vhs tape i bought from them. They told me that they bought the tape years ago, but since they didn't watch it, it was in new condition. Well the tape had obviously been watched before (it was not at the beginning when put in to watch), there was a extremely old sticker on the side of it that was placed on it, and it was just not new, like stated in their description.
The seller then continued to send me messages about what ebay rules state the condition of new being and since THEY never watched it, it must have been new.
they are just impossible to deal with, RUDE, and i do not advise anyone to buy from.
Sleeping Beauty is a classic story that I purchased for my Grand daughter. The VHS tape movie was worn out and in places the movie went totally grainy (exposed to a magnet). This is very disappointing. If the owner had viewed the movie, they probably wouldn't have sold it on EBay. Even at the low price it really isn't worth watching.
the item was what we wanted it was used so it did have a little of the usual wear on it that was okay and my niece was very excited it was made in 1989 so she did not think she would ever get it.
This Sleeping Beauty tape was received in very poor condition. I can't believe the seller even put it on EBAY. My elderly aunt was very disappointed when I put the tape into the VCR and we could not even make out the picture, and it wasn't because of tracking. I need to buy VHS tapes because my elderly aunt is mentally handicapped and knows how to use her VCR. To change to a DVD player is not an option for her.

Pros: Wonderful movie. Beautiful animation
Cons: None
Disclaimer I am about to do something I have never done here before - well, at least not on purpose. I am about to make a complete fool of myself. But it is for a good cause. This review is part of the Hard_to_Please Love Fest, organized by diverpam, for our friend Mark (Hard_to_Please) who was recently diagnosed with advanced cancer. All funds raised this write- off will be donated to Mark to help defray some of his expenses. Although Mark has his own wonderfully unique style we are each attempting to honor him by writing in our best Hard_to_Please fashion. We hope you will enjoy the entries.

The best work Disney EVER did....

Pros: Beautiful art, wonderful music, the best Disney Villain Ever.
Cons: No cons. Just Beauty.
I re-watched Sleeping Beauty this weekend for the first time in years...I've been a critic of the recent Disney attempts to regain their former glory, and I needed some affirmation that the glory was EVER there. This film put those fears to rest. "Sleeping Beauty" is indeed a Masterpiece. Every part of the film is the epitome of animated storytelling. The story is at its most basic a tale of good versus evil, and all parts of the film grow from that dichotomy. Light versus darkness, Love versus hate, Beauty versus...well, ugliness I suppose, although Maleficent is strangely appealing. If you..

Lovely but Frightening

Pros: the funny fairies
Cons: Malificent is really scary
This movie used to scare the living daylights out of me. I think Malificent may well be the most frightening villain ever to enter a Disney animated feature. The scene where Aurora pricks her finger is ethereally creepy, and the final battle between Prince Philip and Malificent is downright scary. For those reasons, I'm not sure that this movie is appropriate for children under five, and it may well scare children older than that. However, not all of the movie is so dark. The story centers around Aurora, a princess who is cursed by Malificent days after her birth. The evil witch declares that.

Pros: Beautifully realized. Ravishing art work.
Cons: The supporting cast has more personality than the leads.
It's been an absolute bear of a day. I spent all morning with my lawyers, Fajer and Hellmann, negotiating an iron clad contract guaranteeing me the rights to my new Broadway stage spectacular, Mother Teresa: The Musical and locking in complete artistic and creative control. I've survived in this business we call show for quite some time now and I know that there'll need to be some changes made to suit my style and my public and I don't need any composer or original author putting their oar in. When we had finished, I called Bob Mackie and met him at Skybar for a little drink and some...

Pros: it's a great movie and a great DVD
Cons: hmm do we really need a standard format.
I got Sleeping Beauty on DVD 2 years ago when it came out. It s an old fashion Disney movie that I had to add to my collection and after watching it a few times I shelved it before reviewing. It so last week I decided to watch this again so I could go back and review this is what I think. Sleeping Beauty was released in the late 50 s, way before my time at least. At the time the animation was pretty ground breaking with stylized pictures that took full advantage of the wide screen ratio. It was a hit, and it s a timeless classic. Story The King and Queen have given birth to a new Princess...
