Steven points The Way in this inspiring CD

The reason I did not rate this CD as "Excellent" is because several of the songs are not as catchy (musically or lyrically)as I had hoped. The reason I bought it was because of the song "Let Us Pray" and for me, even for that one song, it was worth it. Of course I have come to love other songs on the CD as well.
"Let Us Pray" is in my opinion, the crown jewel of this album. It's lyrics are eye-opening, and the music is something you'll be humming all the time. It reminds us that prayer is not a monotonous act, to be done out of obligation, but rather a cry for help, or a song of thanksgiving, approcahing the throne of a Loving Father.

  For the Church
Review created: 02/09/07

This album is Steven Curtis Chapman's best album in my opinion. His ministry (as I see it) is chiefly as an encouragement/exhortation the Church and this album is fully both of those things. It is challenging and musically excellent.

  Spectacular! Steven Curtis Chapman CD

Steven Curtis Chapman is the man that nearly single-handedly put Contemporary Christian Music on the map. Signs of Life is a country rock bluesy stand-out among all of his CD's. The music tracks are alive with slick guitar riffs, appealing dobro backgrounds, and Steven's unmistakable kentucky-style homegrown soul.

Signs of Life came after Steven's 4 consecutive Grammy's for 'Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album' and while I like the previous grammy winning CD's, I enjoy Signs of Life much more because of its gritty, down to earth, personal quality.

My favorite tune on the album is 'Lord of the Dance', every time I hear it, I just feel more alive. Once you hear it, you'll be running to purchase this CD too! I've given the CD a 5 out of 5 and wish I could rate it higher.

Signs of Life, Precious but not the normal Steven Style....
Review created: 11/26/00

Pros:
Strong Lyrics

Cons:
Not Relevant Of Artist's "Normal" Style

Signs of Life Steven Curtis Chapman Humble and Thankful The incredible humbleness that is a part of Steven Curtis Chapman, is again transparent in the lyrics presented on Signs of Life! He was one of the first Contemporary Christian Artists I became fond of, and he remains amongst my favorites this day. Not only do I find his lyrics relevant to my Christian walk, his music talent skillful, and his attitude superior I also admire the fact that he continues to be humble

Lord of the Dance Does it Again!

Pros:
Powerful message in every song

Cons:
Only a few songs on the album that I didn't care for

Steven Curtis Chapman first debuted this hit Album in 1996. That year I introduced my husband to the music of this great artist. Steven Curtis Chapman has won numerous Dove awards for his songs that inspire, uplift, and minister to people's souls. As a young child, I had always listened to the works of Mr. Chapman and my husband being an Elton John fan I thought I would give it a try and see if he would be open to listening to Christian Contemporary music in it's place. Needless to say I talked my husband into buying the cd at our local Family Christian Store. We were not disappointed with it.

Pros:
well, it's still Steven!!!!

Cons:
It's not Steven at his best, plastic lyrics. This album just doesn't hold up to his other work.

I don t think this is Steven s best project by far. Don t get me wrong, but the songs on this album are more dry and less introspective. I theorize that Steven s break after this project was a good idea; it set up for a fantastic album with Speechless Skip this album for Speechless, Heaven in the Real World, or Steven s best, The Great Adventure There are a few things to say about this project, and here they are: Lord of the Dance is the coolest track on this project; in fact it kind of carried the whole disc. The song has a cool mix of acoustic twang and driving drum rhythms. Children of the.

  LIFE, this way please!

Pros:
original, distinctive, and the lyrics are amazing.

Cons:
not everyone can adapt to this new sound

yes, indeed, all signs point to THIS album. Sure, Heaven in the Real World was definitely catchy, poppy, and very "STEVENNY" sounding, but after countless albums with the similar adult contemporary sound, I guess you can say i was definitely ready for a change. Don't get me wrong, Speechless, his latest album, is wonderful, and Heaven in the Real World by far is my favorite Steven album, but creatively, I have to say Signs of Life is the most so far. Musically, it's extremely inventive with a new rootsy, bluesy sound, with a myriad of guitars, drums, and original tunes. I'd say about half of.

HE is the Lord of the Dance called Life...

Pros:
Catchy tunes, meaningful lyrics

Cons:
None

Looking for some great tunes for your kids (or yourself) that focus on the positive? Try this awesome 1996 release from "SC squared". Steven Curtis Chapman is a great solo artist that sings about God's love in a pop style. This particular CD, Signs of Life, is one of my favorites from him. I have seen him in concert and heard him testify before thousands about God's power in his life. It all comes through in his music cause he writes most all of it! He also includes scripture reference to help understand where he's coming from. I like to cover my favorite four songs on an album, so here goes:.
