This movie is lighthearted with a lot of humor and action! The plot is mostly believable, and always a lot of fun. I liked the witty banter between De Niro and Eddie Murphey. And they both gently poke fun at each other and themselves. Definatly worth watching. And aslo, the woman who plays Chase's assistant in the film is Robert De Niro's stepdaughter from his first marriage!
Hadn't seen nor heard of this movie, but it has good actors, so decided to give it a try. Couldn't lose with the excellent price I paid for it, and the movie turned out to be quite enjoyable. Also, helped make my DVD library a little bigger.

Pros: Some funny scenes. It is an entertaining movie
Cons: Not as good as it could have been. The plot wasn't that original.
After a few months of working some very long hours, I finally have some time off to do what I want to do again. I was able to go to the movies for the first time in months. There were a few other times when I could have gone before this, but at those times, there were no movies playing that I wanted to see at my local movie theater. This time my friend and I were really wanting to see something else, but it had left our theater. Just our luck. This time there were a few other movies we also wanted to see. We decided on Showtime. CAST Robert DeNiro - Mitch Preston Eddie Murphy - Troy Sellars...

Pros: Very very funny.
Cons: One small bad political message from Hollywood...
I don t really care for Robert De Niro. I can t recall a single film he s been in that has been even remotely entertaining. I know that he s a good actor, but I just don t like his style. I especially don t care for his comedic roles, such as Paul Vitti in Analyze This. I ve given De Niro a chance too many times. Eddie Murphy, on the other hand, I have always held in great esteem. He is a very talented actor, able to often take very poorly written material and turn it into a work of art by his delivery. This past week I had a chance to see the film Showtime. The film stars both of these two...

Masochism, pure and simple...

Pros: The actors were supposed to be pros...
Cons: The film makers were cons...
Masochism: abnormal condition where pleasure is derived from pain and humiliation. Showtime: abnormal condition where no pleasure is derived from this self-inflicted pain and humiliation. I stood outside the cinema looking at the signs which in brazened neon blared a variety of unknown film names starring the unheard of masses when all of a sudden I saw 'Robert De Niro'. Dudes!! It's Bob!! Can't go wrong really there, even if it's not a great film, it'll still be bearable, right?? So into the cinema I ran, grabbing a ticket along the way, and settled in for an enjoyable cop-blow-'em-up fest,..

Pros: It's funny. So laugh. Bill Shatner and Kadeem Hardison sightings!
Cons: Thin on plot. Eddie
I hadn't heard of Showtime until one of my roommates was raving about a trailer he saw with William Shatner playing himself trying to teach Robert DeNiro how to be a cop. That was enough for me. TJ Hooker trying to teach DeNiro how to act. Think...of the possiblities! After seeing it this weekend, I can recommend it to people who enjoy a good time. For all you artsy types who would forego entertainment for something deep, meaningful, slow, and depressing (i.e., you're the type that's seen most of the Academy Award nominees from most of the past years.) then your presence is not needed. There..
