Shadowrun (Xbox 360)

Well, Shadowrun is finally out and I have to say its ALOT funner than it looks. If you see gameplay videos, it looks stale and hard to control. Well that is not the case. Here I will begin my review on Shadowrun.

Graphics: 7/10
While the graphics are not Gears of war, they are still decent and look purty at times, especially maelstrum map. You can tell what the weapons are and whatnot, and I happen to like the art style very much. Reminds me of timesplitters in a way.

Gameplay: 10/10
If you watch some gameplay video's of shadowrun, they look boring and stale on paper. You have to actually play the game to understand this type of fun factor. The only complaint I have about it is the learning curve. While steep it is really easy once you get a hang of it. And unlike other fps games, this game includes weapons with magic and tech with almost entirly different battles with other people or bots. And this isn't a mindless run and shoot anything you see type of game. This game you actually have to be smart to play if you want to outwit your enemies and survive. Imagine Magic + FPS + Counterstrike and you have shadowrun gameplay. :)

Story: 4/10
While there is basically no story what so ever hardly. If you watch the intro, you can sort of understand what is going on. The intro is really cool to watch imo. Well I can't really describe anything on the story since there basically isn't one.

Replay Value: 8/10
While there is hardly no content, online multiplayer will keep you coming back. This game is really one of the best games I ever played. Almost every match is totally different with the races, magic, and tech and whatnot.

Overall: 9/10
If you have live this is the online game for you. You will spend countless hours having a huge blast with this new fps twist gameplay type at your hands. If you don't have live, well there are bots you can play with. The bots have astounding AI. They revive, tell you there location, teleport, and all that good stuff.

this game is great. if you are into halo of COD4 or any type of multiplayer shooter game like that then buy this game! This game has most all of the same aspects as halo and COD4 plus you can use magic and other powers.

This game is a great game with distinctive qualitites and amazing online play. With so many different decisions to be made on a dime, this game keeps you on edge. I would buy it time and time again.

I enjoyed this game. It was a cross between a 3rd person shooter and a Role Playing Game (RPG). It has a mix of gund & gernades along with magic spells and wizardry. That's the reason i like this game the most was becase it it had a little of both workds, A gam eliwk warcraft crossed with a Call of Duty Game. Two of my favorite type of games to plays.

I would recomend this game. The game was a little shortler than i liked and the multiplayer is fun, but they need to add more maps.

This game is the most underated game ever. If you have ever appreciated a first person shooter you will fall in love with this fresh knew style of game. With a vartiety of races, magic, and technology there is limitless ways to play. This game will pull you in to the point that no other first person shooter will live up to it.

This game got killed in reviews because it has absolutely nothing to do with the famed shadowrun saga, however if you come into this game not looking for something shadowrun related than you will love it. This is hands down the best online game on the 360, its the only game that allows both pc and 360 players to play together. The game itself is a mix of counterstrike with a world of warcraft twist. Its truely innovative, there is no other game like this and its definitly worth a try if not a purchase.

Too much stuff to do and only a handful of maps but it is fun at times. Cycling though spells, tech, weapons and so on gives me an ADD headache. Once you figure out what combos are best suited for each map it is easy to have fun with it. Graphics are OK.

Shadow Run is very fun first person shooter, and stands out from others because of your ability to use magic. The graphics are good, the round based buying system is well done as are the balance between the classes you can play. The game is not perfect, there are noticeable glitches in the game and (like when you go up ladders) the lack of a campaign is also somewhat of a downer, though I knew there was not one when I bought it. overall if you are lookin for a fun team based fps and have xbox live then you should definetly check out shadowun.

I love XBOX and wanted to play this game. This game i was told was like gears but also has magic in it. You can play with lots of people online and thats what i love doing

Most of what folks are posting here is true... There is not single player mode (other than playing "Solo" matches against bots and the training "missions"). There are 9 maps and 3 game types.

I don't quite understand the frustration people are having over getting the game home to realize there is not single player mode, though. It has been widely reported for months (since the game was announced) that this would be a multiplayer only game. You should always research a game prior to purchasing it.

I find the game quite fun, and entertaining. I am a huge fan of the original pen and paper version of Shadowrun, and while this game does not stick terribly close to some of the "rules" of that version, it does an admirable job of presenting what I think of as a small slice of the Shadowrun world and mythos.

I am a FPS junkie, and this game does a lot to keep me interested. I really like the options I have on how to equip my character with the different spells, tech, and weapons. It is amazingly cool to be able to glide into the air teleport through a wall, take perch on top of a statue, and snipe the opposing team. Then I glide off my perch, back through the wall, and escape before they can retaliate. Or, even better, when under fire summon a minion to attack my foe as a distraction while I teleport in behind them to take them out from behind.

I like the ability to purchase new items between rounds. To me this seems fresh and new, but apparently that is because I did not play Counterstrike. Also, this serves to heighten the intensity from round to round, since each character is buying and employing new/stronger abilities each round.

Because the game is round and objective based it does require teamwork. The teamwork isn't as essential as it is in a game like Gears Of War, but it does help to work together. This is not a Halo clone, where you just run, shoot, die, respawn, repeat. Shadowrun requires much more strategy and teamwork. I feel as though this (along with games like Gears Of War) is one of the early steps we are seeing to the next evolution of FPS gaming. The Halo-type game is fun, but to me feels dated with its lack of innovation, and same-old-same-old feel. I prefer Shadowrun over the Halo 3 beta hands down.

However, this is not a perfect game by any means. FASA is having a very hard time getting their servers to cooperate. Many people, myself included, are having a hard time getting into matches. Most of the time a match is found within a couple of minutes, but there have been times when I have waited 5-10 minutes without a match being found before I turn it off and go to play Gears Of War. I have seen online that there have been some people that haven't been able to get into public matches since the game was released 5 days ago. FASA has stated they are working on the problem.

I do wish there were more gametypes, but what is there will be enough until an update comes out in a few months. The matches are all varied, since there is such a large variety of buildouts for characters, etc. I have had no 2 games that played the same.

My biggest complaint about this game is the inability to insure that your party stays together when you go into a match. I can have myself and 7 of my buddies together in a party and when we go to join a public match we will be split up in order to "balance" the teams. You don't even have the option to switch up who is playing on what team. The computer decides for you.

awsome awsome game if you like online shooters, it really has almost no single player play, as its an online based game, so if you have a nice internet conmnection go for it!
you can play as 4 diffrent species all with their own ups and downs.
its a nice mix of guns and magic. i highly reccomend.

This is a Great game! It is fun to play on X-Box Live. If you like RPG's and Action games you will like this.

Not only is this game one of a kind, but the game play is amazing! At first I didn't think much of it because I was so bad, but after I got good at the game and played it for awhile, I had such a blast that I played it for 8 hours straight at one point! It effectively mixes magic with tech and creates a whole new game play experience. This is a definite buy. 5/5

I thought this game was average at best.The game offline was very short.The game was made to be played online but after an hour or so it was getting old.For a good online multiplayer shooter check out Gears of War or GRAW 2.

If you are someone that enjoys repetitive combat and slow pace this game is not for you. Shadowrun never claims to be a campaign oriented game, therefore the offline play can not be expected to be very good, and its not. However online is a entirely different thing. The different races troll, elf, human, and dwarf coupled with numerous powers and upgrades keeps this game both fun and addicting.

Due to the fact that this is an online oriented game all 40 something achievements are obtained online. Each at first seems impossible, then you find you unlock some without even knowing it. Kind of a nice suprise.

In all Shadowrun is a very good online shooter, don't let the fact that it has no campaign stop you from owning a truely awesome game.

Game is okay, its more of a multiplayer game, with same capture the flag style throughout. It is Fun when played online, but as far as solo goes..... thumbs down.

If you don't have Xbox live I would not by this game, because there is absolutely no campaign mode. The only online mode is the training chapters that helps you to understand how to play online.

This game was suppose to be huge and it was great don't get me wrong. But they made such a big deal about it and then it finally came out and there was nothing spectacular. I like the game but it is nothing more then mediocre. I say go rent it if you play for fun but if you want to get the achievements you'll have to sit through 400+ games which tend to get repitive to quickly.

Reall Good game i played the demo is is so fun and i wanted more so i looked on ebay on purchesed the game shadowrun rocks xbox 360.

I've never played a game with so many different ways to play and attack on the same map. I wonder if I'll ever play Halo again? Fly, Teleport, turn to smoke, etc. Try the free demo if you think you can handle it.

This is one of the best games for xbox live out there. I like how it combines magic with machine guns because no other game has done that before. It also is a cross platform game meaning people on the computer can play people on xbox.
