I wish they had put all 6 seasons on VHS tape as I could not get the DVD's to work.....I even rented season 6 on DVD and never did see all of the episodes because it kept sticking. I HATE DVD's

A Shortened Season Makes For Additional Special Features, But Can That Save This DVD?

Pros: special features
Cons: many of the episode plots
I have a strange and large addiction to Sex and the City. So you see, I was very disappointed when Season 5 made its debut on HBO. The previous season had so many wonderful ups and downs; I wondered what direction the writers would take the characters. I soon realized that this particular season wasn t going to be like the previous seasons which made it disappointing to many fans. Sex and the City is comprised of four single New York City women, who are on the endless search for love, companionship and yes, good sex. In Season 4, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) refused to marry Aidan...

Season 5 of the hit HBO television Show: Sex and The City (A Shortened Season)

Pros: some strong episodes, great pricing now, some very funny moments, a great season
Cons: shortened season
Season 5 of Sex and The City came along differently than previous seasons, mostly because of the personal lives of some of the stars. Real life pregnancies complicated the shooting schedules for two of the leads (Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon) and it ended up hurting the show along with disappointing a legion of die-hard fans. The end result was a very shortened season, with only 8 episodes hitting the airwaves on HBO that season. On the one hand, it didn't allow any filler episodes in order to bridge the gaps between serious plot-lines, and it actually let the writers get to the...

"She Had A Baby, Not A Lobotomy": Breastfeeding and Book-Signing In The City

Pros: Generally consistent and entertaining plots; good character development.
Cons: Only eight episodes, and a few of those display notable flaws.
Please Note: Although this review is tagged for spoilers, it also contains reference to significant plot elements from Sex and the City: Season Four. Introduction Often considered the runt of its pack, the fifth year of Sex and the City saw the series endure a dramatic downsize in quantity, being curtailed to a mere eight editions following the announcement of main star Sarah Jessica Parker s pregnancy. Despite being a completely understandable creative decision (I can t imagine anything worse for the show than Carrie being given a baby she d probably trade the child in for a new pair of...

Pros: great show
Cons: less episodes
I love Sex And The City, its so funny and its just really compelling viewing, but i didnt think this until series three. I dont rate the first 2 seasons at all, i didnt like the parts where random members of the public make comments with carries voice over - which also took alot of getting used to. My dislike of the first two seasons isnt helped by the fact that you can only buy the season one dvd is NTSC format, which means if youre dvd player is a PS2 then youre forced to watch the first season in black and white. When we reached season three, sex and the city had become a cult show,...

Cut Short?

Pros: The wit and humor.
Cons: Only 8 episodes and overpriced.
I usually have as much excitement for Sex and the City as I do for a new pair of expensive shoes! When Season 5 was released, I was disappointed that it only had 8 episodes and overly priced! However, I did enjoy the shows, but they were not up to par like the previous shows. They seemed to have lacked .. that "Zsa Zsa Zsu" as Carrie Bradshaw so eloquently puts it in one of the episodes. It would have been best if they combined Season 4 with Season 5 DVDs or Season 5 with the upcoming Season 6 DVDs. Overall, if you're a huge fan of Sex and The City as I am, then you will be more forgiving for.
