Serenity is an Action Packed Adventure

This is one incredible movie. No, you don't have to be familiar with the series to enjoy it, but the familiarity will make several moments in the movie that much more tragic. The action here is incredible, and unlike several of the Star Trek movies, the characters don't deviate from their series personnas. The emotional impact of several scenes is so intense it was hard to stay seated (a crash landing sequence can almost give you motion sickness). This brings a satisfying end to the storyline the original series had started. It's a shame the show never got to tell this story in its entirety. You can see where some parts of the movie are rushed in a way. Something that could have been stretched over weeks in a series had to be handled in minutes, and that robs it a little. But you have to applaud Whedon for being able to tie up all the loose ends he started with just two hours. Shame on the network for cancelling this, but congratulations to Whedon for giving the fans--both old and new--the ending the show deserved. Heroes will shine, and some will fall, but Serenity will live on.

SerentyThis is great science fiction and as a story of its own it is excellent, however for those who followed the Firefly series, and were told that this would answer all those questions left when the series was cancelled, this is wrong still some questions not only left unanswered but due to the way the story developed left no room for finding those answers, should later movie or tv show come from it.

I love it. I enjoyed Joss Whedon's direction of this film. I liked the characters, they each were given a three dimensional personality. I like how easy the director made it for me to pick up the story line, which was alo multi-dimensional. It will make a good addition to my sci-fi collection. Plus, here on eBay, I was able to buy an excellent copy for a great price. Check it out, you might like too...if you don't you will have a gift to give the sci-fi fan iny our family!

SerenityLoved it, subtle differences between this full screen and the wide screen version are exciting to watch for. Serenity puts the storyline as the star with the end result being all of the actors shine thru for their own true abilities with major star qualities. The futuristic storyline premise is fresh and as exciting as when Star Wars came out in the 70's. Sure wish another movie was in the works and/or the Firefly series was still running.

Sci Fi Comedy that entertains...I had seen the first 1/2 of this movie in a limo, and almost dint get out when we reached our destination, because it was so good. I decided to buy it when I saw it on ebay, because, Lets be honest...You wont find it at best Buy. Most of the rare movies I own come from ebay. Some previously viewed, some not. Watch the feedback, and you will get an idea of the quality that you'll receive.

Great movie!Fast paced action sci-fi movie unlike any other you've seen before. This was a good follow-up to the Firefly TV series. If possible, watch the TV show first to get the basis for the movie plot.

Love the movie and the series that was on TV - 'firefly'. Bought the just-released 'firefly' DVD series and had to have the move to go with it. Characters and theme of movie are great. The only thing I dislike is the fact that Hollywood didn't see fit to continue with the series.

Worthy Hugo winnerSERENITY is a rare, story-driven science fiction film, with an enjoyable backstory from the TV series FIREFLY. Its characters are entertaining and the future in which it's set is fascinating. The movie won science fiction fandom's Hugo Award as the best drama (of over 90 minutes) of 2005; even following upon such earlier winners as 2001, ALIEN (and ALIENS), the three good STAR WARS films and the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, it's a worthy winner. Three word review? Lotsa fun. (That's two words.)

SerenityLike the series that was cancelled, the movie was great. Good acting, great directing, characters all believable and mostly likeable. The end was a slight downer, but thats the way it had to be I guess. Some of the fight scenes were excellent, especially the holding of the hall.

This movie was an excellent addition to the Firefly series. I was really pleased that Joss Whedon was able to make a movie installment for the series since they weren't able to finish the series since it was cancelled.
You don't have to see the series first in order to enjoy it, but it certainly helps you understand each character better if you do.

Wow -- deep breath!Such a tragedy that this series was not promoted enough to allow it to get the viewing it deserved. Perhaps the cleverest writing ever on TV. The characters live and breathe and interact so delightfully that I found myself chuckling over the dialogue!
Good movie as a stand alone and GREAT movie as a climax to the series. I am still sad that it was cancelled.

This movie is a great "conclusion" if you will for fans of the TV series, Firefly. Great portrayal of the mood and ideas surrounding the series, and leaves you wanting more! Maybe one day a sequel will be made, or even better, the series will be reignited! If you're looking for fast-paced, nail biting action, suspense, love and humor, this is a sure bet for any sci-fi fan!

Joss Whedon's cowboy/sci-fi masterpiece gives excellent dialog, superb special effects, and characters that solidly cast. I would strongly recommend ordering the Firefly complete season DVD set to watch before this movie. It gives you a continiouty lacking in many movie franchises. Good science fiction has been hard to come by so if you are a fan of the genre, don't pass this up.
