Why couldn't Uncle Garth and Uncle Hub have been my Uncles? Michael Caine and Robert Duvall play the greatest cranky old guys with soft hearts.
The tales of Hub and Garth are fantastic.
I'm sorry to say but I think this was the last of the cuteness of Haley Joel Osment. He was very cute in this movie but definitely has come of age.
Also starring are Kyra Sedgwick, Josh Lucas and Eric Balfour.

This is a great family movie. As a mother of 5 I highly recommend it for your children.

This is a wonderful movie! It shows how functional dysfunctional families can be. Two "crazy" uncles turn out to be the most stable people in Walter's (the main character) life. There is plenty of humor throughout the movie to keep you watching until the end.

My husband and I saw this movie for the first time, only about 6 months ago. Wow... I couldn't believe what we had missed. Then it was on TV again more recently, and naturally, we viewed it; only this time with our grandson. What a truly wholesome family movie. It was not anything that we thought would be out of line or off-base for our 10 yr old grandson. There was enough comedy to really keep everyone interested and laughing, but there was also enough seriousness to form a very good moral plot; not to mention that it included some of the best actors of all time! It was then that I started the hunt to purchase the movie. I had no luck at local retail stores, so I immediately thought...EBAY! Of course, 'isn't that where you have always gone to find what you are looking for and are unable to find anywhere else?' Now we own it, and I could watch it every week, if not every day. I am so glad that there is an Ebay, where you can find quality and bargains in an instant.

A Family movie, we viewed it on TV and just had to buy a copy of it.
A warm hearted movie about a boy being raised by his 2 eccentric uncles, after his Mother more or less abandoned him.
We would watch this one again.

Delightful film, seasoned actors, great characters. A real feel good flick!! Unique blend of fantasy and reality. Michael Caine, Robert Duvall, Haley James Osment are well-cast. It was several minutes into the movie before I knew which one was Michael Caine. A+++

Saw the movie on TV and want a copy for my son, husband and father to watch together. Great movie for many generations.

I loved everything about this movie..the laughter the tears the explosive giggles..The fight scenes were hysterical..You gotta love those Uncles..the tender moments between them and their Nephew brought tears to my eyes..I wont go into details, but believe me this movie will thrill you to no end not to mention make your jaw drop..give Secondhand Lions a look see, oh and be sure you have your hanky ready!

If you avoid taking this movie too seriously, it is wildly entertaining for the whole family. My kids love this movie. While the professional reveiwers may not like the roles played by these traditional stars, this is really what "acting" should be all about. Not an Academy Award nominee, but sometimes that's exactly what you need to be entertained.

THis movie is about character, integrity, and "heart" things. We so often miss these things in our busy lives, and we forget what really counts.

The characters in this book have found true happiness, and understand like George Harris says "Live Life for the Moment".

As a fan of both Michael Caine and Robert Duvall I had to view this movie. Each time it appears on AMC to TBS I am compelled to view it once more.
Anyone that may have grown up with elderly uncles can relate. The staories may have been different, but just as compelling.
i am sur ethat this is one DVD that I will totally wear out.

We love this movie. It is funny, exciting, and wonderful for the whole family. My 5 year old loves this movie and was the main reason we bought it. I love the story line and everything about it.

Good movie which really teaches you the true value of life and experiences over living for money. This is the way I saw it anyway. On top of that, class act cast and wonderfully funny moments throughout the movie, a great film that is over 10 years old now and I just saw it for the first time.

This is a great film. I love the doubt and faith inspired by the uncles. And the conclusion . . .! I won't spoil the ending however I will say that it was perfect. This is a movie for the family archives to be watched over and over again.

Family oriented story, suitable for all ages, heartwarming and funny. I already had this movie in VHS but wanted it in DVD.

80 days later I never received this video. The video is good, however, or I would never have ordered it. It is just too bad that this company never sent it to me.

This movie is a blast for the young and old alike. Duval and Cain steal the show! Once the storytelling by the uncles takes off, the movie gets really good!

It is a good family movie and very enjoyable to watch. Children of all ages will sit still to watch this i should know my kids are 5 - 2 years of age and they all sat and watched it not once but many times over.

We loved the story and the main characters. My only dislike was the occasional colorful "metaphor"...to me it detracted from an otherwise great story...it wasn't needed at all.

We rented this once & loved it. We are in our early 40s. My neices & nephews who are 7 and 15 loved it. We had to buy it for our collection. We let Gramma & Grampa borrow it & they loved it too. Ya cant go wrong this movie!!!
