Orignally I got this book from the library b/c some of Amanda Quick's books I just don't like and I am glad I borrowed it. Even though the other reviewers found it up to par, I didn't. The book took off great then slowed down and so I put it down. Later that week, I picked it up and it was slow going then I was enthralled for about 5 pages, then I caught myseld wondering if there was any house work to be done. I am all for face paced books but keep up that pace. This book had highs but then it dropped into a dull pace. I usually can finish a book this size in two days but instead it took me a month to read it. I HIGHLY recommend borrowing this book before purchasing b/c there are other readers who liked it.
I am a fan of Jane Ann Krentz and this book did not disappoint. Full of all of the fun and fripperies of a Regency fiction novel, it added bits of mystery and humor. While I don't think it was her best work of that period, it was entertaining and engaging and the hero and heroine were both appealing.
