THIS VIDEO, WILL TEACH YOU ENGLISH WITHOUT YOU KNOWING ITS HAPPENING. I WOULD SING ALONG WITH THE MUSIC, AND LATER WHEN IN SCHOOL WOULD SING THE SONG TO MYSELF IN ENGLISH CLASS AND BE ABLE TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS. I HOPE IT WILL JUST AS USEFUL TO MY SON. THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES AND FOR SELLING THESE VIDEOS.
I can distinctly remember when these animated shorts were seen on ABC between their cartoons on Saturday mornings. I could sing all the songs by heart and still use them today. I was thrilled that they were bringing these back and put them on video for my kids to watch. The premise is simple enough. Try and teach some grammar to children without them realizing that they are learning something. Each segment is approximately 3 minutes in length and feature basic animation. Each segment also takes a different grammatical approach and places it in a rhyming text with a melody. The main focus is...

Pros: Great memory tool
Cons: None
Are you singing the rest of it? At least in your mind? "What's your function?" I loved these shows when I was a kid. They had catchy tunes.. so catchy that I can still hear them today, even without the videos. I love hearing my kids singing along. My youngest even will sing "but, for now, I am still just a bill..." when his older brother is teasing him. I think he's trying to tell him that someday big brother is in for it. :) As a mom, I couldn't be happier to see my kids relate to something from my childhood. Unless you were raised in another country, or under a rock, you know these songs....

Pros: Simple songs.
Cons: a flash to 70's clothes
These language sing-a-longs are my second favorite. This video is like a little story telling you how to use the language. Very basic. Very simple. The kids are learning and they won't know it. They like to show them to all the other children. "How come they don't know about the School House Rock shows?" is the question I hear often. If you love this you are bound to love the others. I think it is a great product at a great price. It is hard to find a used copy. The children can sing them in the car, on a walk, or any time.

New Intro song

Pros: educational, catchy songs
Cons: new intro
I remember this series from when I was a kid. Conjunction, junction, what's your function. I love the educational content in this movie and the catchy tunes. I find myself humming these tunes around the house. My husband even joins in sometimes. My children wanted to know why we were singing these songs soooo... we bought the movies. They love them and are now singing the songs themselves. I home school so anything that encourages my children to learn gets an A from me. I was also surprised at the new intro song and beat. I prefer the old introduction song with the train station!! I have not..

Good for Adults and Kids

Pros: Excellent Video for parents and kids
Cons: Only 30 minutes in length
Whenever I'm choosing a video for my children, I always think in the back of my mind, "How am I going to feel after viewing this with them sixty or seventy times?" Children have a tendency to watch things over and over, which is why I can highly recommend this video, as well as the others in the series. I was a very little girl when the Schoolhouse Rock segments started airing on ABC. I was entertained as well as educated then, as well as now. Although "Conjunction Junction" is the most commonly remembered song on Grammar Rock, I still remember passing a test in grade school on adverbs by...
