Scam Proof Your Life by Sid Kirchheimer (2007)

This book was referenced in a magazine article I read, and I was so impressed with the information that I decided to borrow the book from the local library. I rarely buy books unless I feel I will re-read them or use them as a reference. Therefore, I fully anticipated getting some helpful tips about some popular scams, but I was blown away by the depth of knowledge in the book! Everything from buying a car, getting a mortgage, and much, much more was included! There are helpful references to some very current websites, which really supplemented the information in the book! I quickly realized that this book would be a critical asset to my bookshelf, and I immediately purchased it!
I would also like to add that this was very easy to read and comprehend. The author demonstrates a great deal of passion and enthusiasm for topic, and I found myself eagerly turning pages until late into the evening – as if I were reading a suspense novel! I have an interest in psychology, and I found myself thinking about how some common scams work and who would fall for them (including myself). After reading this book, I feel so incredibly empowered! I feel confident in the knowledge I’ve gained and more informed as a consumer.
I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE! I truly believe it’s one of the most valuable resources for living an informed and empowered life!
