Durable, Easy to use, Why I chose the SANSA E200 series

I have owned several different mp3 players in the past but none of them really seemed to fit me and have all the features I want in a good MP3 player. Until I bought my Sansa E250 that is. The only other pleyer that even came close to the Sansa was the Creative Zen V plus. As Both players are able to play videos I find the Sansa player more durable and user friendly not even to mention the amasing design and easy to use turn click wheel. But overall My favorite part of the sansa is its software. In the past I was sucked into buying one of those "MP4" players and let me tell you it was the most slow, hard to use, and time waisting devices I have ever owned not to mention I didnt even have it a week before it quit working. I would never go with the Ipod nor would I buy any product from apple. The Ipods are not near as good as they sound and they are way overpriced.
The sansa player also comes in 4 different sizes, 2gb (E250), 4gb (e260), 6gb (e270), and 8gb (e280).
When I went to buy a mp3 player, Sansa was the clear choice for me.
I have now had it for almost a year and still works like new.

Pros:
1- Great turn click wheel.
2- Nice shiny smooth design.
3- Very easy to use and very user friendly.
4- Fast processor and you do not need to wait for songs to load.
5- Plays clear smooth videos.
6- Very nice screen that is good for viewing photos and movies.
7- Nice metal back that makes it very durable.
8- easy to setup and sync with the computer.
9- Good computer software for converting videos.
10- small, it fits nicely in your pocket.
11- battery lasts long.

Cons:
1- Weighs more than some players because of the metal back.
2- Not the best charger port. You may need to buy another charger after a while.

Be sure to vote on the helpfulness of this review to keep me posting.
Thanks, For reading

Solid, dependable, easy to load and navigate PLUS......
Review created: 07/07/07(updated 01/07/08)

The SanDisk Sansa e280, (and the whole e200 series), portable multimedia player has just about everything right for portable music, picture and video playback. We love ours. We shopped around and tried the Creative 30GB but it had poor navigation and was not dependable. The Apple in the home, (our 3rd one still works - first 2 had to be replaced), had good sound and navigation but lacked FM radio, lacked user changeable battery and required the iTunes file converter to convert my own music into the the iPod format so no copy & paste or drag & drop was possible with that unit. The Zune, while not tried, compared on paper similar to the iPod in that it also required file conversion into a proprietary format and lacked a user changeable battery.

The Sansa has great navigation, a solid feel, great sound, simple Windows Explorer drag-n-drop capability, FM receiver and a user changeable battery. In the Creative, Microsoft and Apple 30GB models, you have to send your player in to have the factory install a new battery - for a large fee ($60 to $112 - can vary by device)! The Apple does not offer FM radio on ANY models.

The Creative, Apple and Microsoft all play songs using their different proprietary extensions while the Sansa e200 series players can play MP3, WMA, AAC and RAX files with no conversion necessary. Shows up as an additional drive on your computer when connected via the included USB 2.0 cable. There is included software to convert many graphic (pictures), and movie/video files into your player.

The Sansa e280 is an 8GB flash type memory player, not a hard drive based player. This means that it will have a smaller capacity than hard drive based players but it zips from one song to the next INSTANTLY and does not have that clicking and waiting while a hard drive indexes. I've loaded around 730 MP3's, mostly at 320kbs. Also have some photos and 6 Pixar short films on it, (for the kids). The 8GB capacity was a good fit for us.

The SanDisk Sansa shows up as an additional drive on your computer when you plug it in using the included USB 2.0 cable. By opening Windows Explorer, you can COPY / PASTE or DRAG / DROP music files to, and from, your player. It does not get any easier than that.

The battery life is great! Don't know how long a charge lasts as I've never been low on power yet. The 1.8 inch full color screen is great for seeing what you want to play and for looking at movies and photos. I do not recommend loading in full length movies to be viewed on this screen but it could be done - but this would also load up the memory very quickly.

Navigating the menus and playing files is simple and intuitive. Requires a little push you can feel so you can change songs while the unit is in your pocket. Does not have that soft touch style buttons that might accidentally get pressed.

The sound is perfect using the included earbuds at higher volumes. Good headphones or earbuds can be purchased that will allow outstanding sound quality at all volume ranges. We also plug ours into a speaker dock that also charges the unit. It works great and has great volume for its size.

THE BOTTOM LINE
We shopped around and this is the BEST portable music player with photo and video playback capabilities there is. If in the market for a portable multimedia player, the SanDisk Sansa e280 is the one to get.
UPDATE 1/2007 - The new Sansa 16GB is the same as above but this one requires you to send to factory for battery replacement.

  JUST LOVE THIS MP3
Review created: 06/20/08

This brand came recommended from a family friend. Said he has messed around with ipod and some other brands then had the occasion to work with a Sandisk. He said the ease of operation was incredible. So we got one with 4 gigs and liked it so much that when this one came up on auction, I bidded until i got it. No regrets so far.

  Sansa e280 MP3 Player
Review created: 06/16/08
by:

I purchased an iPod before I bought this. The one thing that caught me off guard was no custom EQ. This Sansa has a custom EQ and I couldn't be happier with what I'm hearing now. I wasn't using my iPod primarily for this reason. When you don't hear songs right with any EQ preset provided, in the end, you will use the product less and less until you never use it.

I like the fact that there is no need for an iTunes like software to load content, one less bloatware on my PC. I like the more solid construction as well, it feels like it can take more abuse. There is a micro-SD expansion slot which allows you to add memory, a very forward looking design and you won't have to buy a new mp3 player as soon as you would with the iPod.

On the down side, I do like the wheel better on the iPod and it seems that navigating menus is more intuitive.

  better than Ipods!
Review created: 06/14/08

I love this thing! Video, music radio voice and no add ons!! I love the micro chip for more space. I have about 5 mp3 players and 2 of them are e280s, these two get all my time! As a person with over 56,000 songs I need players that do what they say they do. A little upset that there is not much in the accessories department, but apples got that market

first of all i trust this seller as i have purchased b4. totally honest about his products.I like the sandisk over some creative products like the micro. after awhile the micros sensitivity on selecting the options of music, playlists if too sensitive where the sandisk is great. will buy another one again as soon as the seller comes up with another listing.

  SanDisk Sansa™ e280 (8 GB) MP3 Player
Review created: 06/08/08

I had bought a sansa e280 for myself a while back, reasons why I bought it was the price for a mp3 player that had that much storage on it. The sound quality is great. But the reason why I bought another one was because my fiancee wanted a mp3 player. So I got her one like mine and she loves it.

This sleek looking device is better than any ipod. It is cheaper and more convenient to set up. You just plug it into the computer and transfer files. There are no complicated downlaods in order to get the device to work. The siund is excellent and it has the wheel feature that ipods have to adjust volume and to scroll through the songs. It also has a recording option. I highly recommend this.

  5 Stars!
Review created: 05/01/08

I have owned two of these little players and I'm definitely a lifelong Sansa lover. It has really good battery life, the interface is easy to understand, I LOVE that it has a recorder and I would recommend it to anybody. Mine is currently holding 950 songs and I still have 2GB left. And the way it handles videos is impressive. I would recommend this player to anyone who was looking to buy an mp3 player. It's small and so durable, I've dropped mine a handful of times but it has yet to exhibit any signs of slowing down.

Great little player!

Very easy to navigate, lot's of playlist/album/artist options for playback. User friendly, able to be upgraded with firmware. Lot's of options and aesthetically pleasing to look at. I love the rotating bar for the volume, one of the best features, you can poke your hand in your pocket and scroll the volume quite easily. A winner for me.

  Perfect in every way
Review created: 04/05/08

I got this after reading online that the newer version 2 of these e200 players has the same superb sound quality as the Sansa Clip due to having the same sound chip. Version 2 will have a small v2 after the model number on the back of the player (for example, e280v2). I have not been disappointed at all - all types of music sound great, even classical music, which I think is the ultimate test for any mp3 player. Absolutely no electrical noises coming from the player at low volume or mute. My last mp3 player emitted a buzzing static noise even when not playing music (the Samsung YP-U3). I'd recommend getting a screen protector however, the polished plastic scratches easily as with most DAPs. A silicone case - the kind that protects the buttons too - makes the buttons a lot easier to press. Big plus: user-replaceable battery. Unlike most mp3 players nowadays, when the battery begins failing in a couple years (it certainly will), you won't have to toss it - just get a new battery for under 20. I think the replaceable battery definitely gives it an edge over the newly released Sansa Fuze.

Great little machine for the money
Review created: 03/18/08

This is a great machine for the money. The only problem we had with it was we filled it up immediately and it was very hard to work with at that point. It had duplicated some songs and so it was at its memory limit. This was the perfect MP3 player for our 8 year olds birthday gift. He loves music and only had a 512 player. This is easy for him to navigate plus it has the built in fm tuner and recordable features. He can find the songs he wants to listen to but it is small enough for him to carry safely.

  SanDisk players E200 series.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Well the V1 series can be upgraded with custom firmware that takes this average mp3 player to a superior mp3 player. These sansa players are not tied to any DRM laden software like Itunes or Zune services. The battery life is acceptable for my needs, It might be short if you are constantly using it. I would say 6-8 hours between charges. Enough to last the day. They are not without their flaws though. The usb cable is proprietary so DON'T lose it. Another issue is that it gets a tad bit laggy when scrolling through large collections of files. Thats why its not getting a perfect rating from me.

Overall I love the E200 series mp3 players. They have served me well.

  ehhh its ok....
Review created: 02/11/08

i opted to buy a new kind of mp3 player after my mom broke my beloved creative zen. i wish i hadnt. its plays the music fine and was easy to setup. but its not very user friendly. for example, the power button is also a way to toggle back to the main menu, which took me about a month to figure out. in order to get the player to respond again after its dormant you have to hit the button twice, once to wake it up and once to do what you wanted to do. kinda annoying and unnecessary considering you could just lock it if you wanted to. you cant make your own playlists except for the go list, which is dumb. the buttons are small and hard to hit some times. still havent figured out how to play videos on mine. im not too thrilled about it. i guess if someone asked me about it i would say an unenthesiatc eh its ok. i would say buy something else instead, preferably a creative zen.

  Excellent Buy!
Review created: 01/02/08
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

After considerable impartial research on MP3 players, I purchased the Sansa e280 player. I knew nothing about MP3's until I reserached this purchase. I compared all the major MP3 players, regardless of price and hype. My reasons for purchasing this player are: 1) large upgradable memory, FM tuner, recorder, ease of use, excellent sound quality and it accepts many MP3 download music sites. The Sony ipods are great, however, I did not want to pay their higher price knowing I would be very limited in choosing downloadable music sites. Also, many of the "ipod docking stations" also accept other MP3 players. Read the fine print. This player also has many Sansa accessories to choose from and, since it is relatively new, I expect Sandisk to add more soon. I have used Sandisk products for years in all my electronics. It's a respected reliable name with an excellent history of ease and reliability. The Sansa e280 player is, in my opinion, the most product for the least money. I am a retired professional musician and quality of sound is very importatnt to me. This particular model will accomodate my music needs for a number of years. In my mind, the Sandisk Sansa e280 MP3 player is the best buy of all the MP3 players. I recommend it for beginners to advanced users. When purchasing accessories, be sure to note that this is the "e series" because Sandisk has different series for different budgets and needs. Enjoy!

Get a look at this first, and then you choose if you still believe it or not.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFKYVE__Mug

Don't get fooled by those other people claiming that you can get a Free Ipod, they're just trying to get people to complete offer for them and they really don't care about the people who does.

You see, I only need 1 more offer to get my free Ipod, I've completed an offer myself and all I need is someone to complete an offer under my refferal. What I promise that other people won't do is that I'll e-mail every people that completed an offer through me and send them pictures of the Ipod I've received as proof, I'll probably put a video too.

To make it clear, you register through the link I give you, you choose refferal account type and you complete an offer. Don't worry, the offer you're completing is for you and for me, you'll only need to do one offer.

There's this new offer called Care Bear something... You pay about 10$ for Care Bear stuff and you get your credit instantly. The good thing is that it's not like these other website or offers, you don't have any commitments about having to pay a huge amount of money each month like, I don't know... COLOMBIA HOUSE...

And if you don't like Care Bears that much, you can send them back their crap and they'll refund you.

After that, the hardest part for you to get your Ipod. Refferals... You'll need to get 5 to 8 people to complete an offer like you just like you did. Talk to friends (if you have some) or do as me (it doesn't mean I have no friends).

It's not that hard and it's pretty useful if you don't have the money to buy one.

So please register with this link and complete an offer.

http://www.YourFreeVideoiPods.com/index.php?ref=4359581

and if you still have a hard time believing me. Just search for "Trainn Proof" on google. Trainn is the name of the enterprise letting you have free stuff.

I'm not some lame spam bot or anything, I'm a real person and I have bought things here on ebay, just look at my feedbacks. Anyway, thanks for your time!

Great little Mp3/video player. Has plenty of space for anything you would want to put on it and it is very simple to use. Unlike ipods and many other mp3 players this one has upgradeable memory with the micro SD slot. Add in a radio tuner and you have any music, or video that you can think to put on this little gadget. A very good product with a lot of thought behind its design.
