SanDisk Sansa® e280 (8 GB) Digital Media Player (SDMX48192A70)

This is by far the based flash-based mp3 player in the world, and has more features than any available ipod. This mp3 player can do it all, it has music that is easily managed with its Rhapsody Jukebox and also comes with a video converter to convert almost ANY video format into a special compact but good quality video file for your Sansa. I recommend the 8 gigabyte version due to the fact that you wont have to buy a micro-sd card (though you can) to expand the powerful device. Note that on the SD card you can only store music files, no video. But isn't 8 gigs enough? I was able to put 15 FULL movies onto my sansa along with about 320 songs, and this thing is so small it was like the world in my hand. I utilized the other features that were hard to find like the FM radio when I wanted the weather forecasts/news and the voice recorder for quick memos and even recording of my acoustic guitar once. I never used the photo viewer much but tracks that had album covers looked great when I had all of my info with each song. But what is the best thing about the player? The Rhapsody service is included as a 6-month subscription with units purchased from certain stores (bestbuy and circuit citry I believe) and what it does is give you access to millions of songs, and can automatically update your Sansa withe the top 100 chart songs of Rap, Rock, county, etc. The last AWESOME detail that puts this at the top of the mp3/mp4 player market is its battery life. In 2 weeks I had to charge my sansa ONCE!!! The battery lasts over 20 hours sometimes even with your video playback! That is amazing and on top of that you can replace the battery on your own EASILY for less that $20!! Say good buy to the ipods 60 day 100 dollar fee for a new battery! The design and compact make of the player also makes it great to travel. NEVER FREEZES! Buy this mp3 player if you want a great deal and features. You can find it for under $130.

This is the easiest player I've ever used, bought one for my daughter last Christmas and got jealous of how much less hassle she had than I did with my 8Gb Creative Zen MicroPhoto. My son has converted from his own Zen (went in for warranty for hard drive problems in the first 90 days) to the e280 as well. Now my wife has seen 'the light' and wants to get rid of her iPod Mini on eBay to get one also.

So easy to use with Windows Media player, very long battery life, great sound quality and features. I've never owned any other make of MP3 player so I can't compare them to the Ipod or others, but it is a great value for the price and very user-friendly. Highly recommended!

It is great, i love it. You can watch videos on it the whole nine yards for such a cheap price compared to retail value.

The interface is good, the funtions are cool, the conectivity its not that easy, but as long as you have the sansa cable its ok, long way better that the ipod ( comparing with the one that have a similar price ) Just reallly happy i use it like 4 hour per day. Nothing else to say.

I love this thing!!!! I can listen to the radio and record any song that I hear. Later I can sync it with my computer and burn it to disc if I want or share the song with friends. I can voice record too. My friend just bought a new car.. I was able to plug my Sansa in and listen to my tunes. The battery lasts forever and charges pretty quickly. I'm so glad I didn't spend a bundle of money on an Ipod.

I really like the 8 GB of space to fill because you can be eclectic in your taste and still not easily fill it up. My only dislike is the interface can be a little slow to boot and slow to respond. The best thing of all is that I can use MY music on it and MY software without having to get APPLE's blessing, consent, or license (not to mention all my cash) to be able to do it. I even have a FM radio in mine and I can RECORD THE RADIO! (And I don't know if IPOD's can do that or not. At least not without prior digital consent and your credit card number.) But I digress...

SANDISK is cheap, reliable, fairly durable, and cheap ENOUGH so that if it DOES die, you're not out half a grand for another descent unit. That alone gets my vote. The beautiful, crisp sounds coming out are pure benefit...

Sandisk makes a great product in the Sansa e-Series MP3 player. The storage sizes are impressive: 2GB, 4GB, 6GB and 8GB. Plus all e-Series have an expansion slot, so you can always increase the player (currently I believe the largest size available is a 2GB microSD card). Another great feature, is the on board memory is flash, not a hard drive, so there aren't many worries about a hard drive crash. My only dislikes are the headphone jack, which seems to become loose a little to easily, and the proprietary cable jack. With the mini USB jack so popular, it would be nice to see a player use the USB instead of the existing pronged adapter. In my opinion, the Sandisk Sansa player is a fantastic competitor to the iPod; both for price comparison, expandability, and features.

This player is a little on the delicate side but a good device! It is definitely a good buy for the memory on it, not to forget the all access software that formats your data for download without hassle. Sansa e280 rocks...just don't drop it too much.

love this mp3 player. I got it for christmas and as a tech savy person I really enjoyed all the features. Reading all the reviews I agree with the crowd on mostly everything. The 8gb memory is clutch, the look is sleek and sophisticated. I also like how the buttons are a little hidden and the volume wheel are designed, it allows for easy use. When placed in your pocket it doesn't accidentily change songs, or the volume doesn't fluctuate. You don't have to always find that tiny lock button everytime you want to put it in your pocket.

It is built incredibly well. The back of it being made of metal, makes it incredibly nice and substantial for carrying around in your pocket. It has got a great interface and the buttons are easy to use. A swappable rechargeable battery is also rare in an MP3 player,(Which this one has) and highly recommend. I bought this MP3 player for an elderly couple. The screen is a perfect size well readable, easy interface for older people, the button configuration is also nice is well. Overall I would say the quality is great! Easy interface to your computer, works well with Windows media player sync tool. 8 gigs is also a nice size. Larger MP3 players with a larger hard drive are great to upload your library on and use in your vehicle. I would recommend this for anyone, as your mobile, carry around with you MP3 player. I would also highly recommend this for anyone that's elderly or older. It also would make a great gift for your parents, if they have any trouble seeing or with arthritis. Highly recommended A+!

Bought for my extremely intelligent computer whiz daughter who was not able to even use it without contacting several online forums. It came with no directions for uploading music and she had to load it three times on her computer before it recognized it. I wouldn't recommend unless you are quite familiar with their other models. I can say once she was over the frustration of getting it to even work, she is quite happy with it.
