Samsung Syncmaster™ 730B (Black) 17 inch LCD Monitor

I had put off buying an LCD monitor for a dozen years or so, and after hours of researching, I settled on purchasing a Samsung LCD for my own personal computer (I have 5 computers running in the house, all with big bulky CRT monitors that are electricity hogs).

The spec's and info I gathered on the Samsung Syncmaster 730 were impressive. After my purchase, I was not disappointed! I can highly recommend this purchase. This monitor is the best thing I have ever laid my eyes on, CRISP, SHARP, GHOST FREE…JUST SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!!!

Here are some of the pros:

·Brightness (even have to adjust it down a bit)
·Professional appearance (Black trim)
·Small size on desk
·Energy saving
·User friendly right out of the box

Here are some of the cons:

·The manual is not much help.
·The base is "springy"; just don't dance around your desk...
·OSD (On Screen Display) controls are fairly hidden and you need practice to use them. The best way around this is to install the "Magic Tune" software (included) as it contains all of the OSD features!

Purchased this for my Grandson to replace his very old Compaq 15" monitor. The picture is very clear and I have always felt Samsung made a good product. It can also be taken w/him to school since it is light in weight compared to the old CRT models. I do feel that there should be a bit more weight in the base,for tipping purposes. But oversll, a very nice product.

I've had this monitor for a couple of years now and it has been nothing short of perfect. It produces clear, crisp and bright images day after day. Though they aren't in production any more, I would certainly still recommend purchasing this model new or used (or at least considering it).

I like the manufacturer. Every product I have purchased with the Samsung name has given excellent service and I expect this monitor will do likewise. Do far, it is perfect.

I ordered a new monitor as my eyesight is not the best. This monitor is better than I expected, It's so much easier to see than with the monitor I got with my Windows XP and so much brighter.

I wanted to have a LCD monitor since I saw the first one almost nine years ago, but the cost was prohibitible for a computer that is 98% used for entertainment. When my flat screen CRT started to act up I started searching for a new monitor and I discovered the Samsung at a price that was less then the monitor I was using.
Now I pleasantly have discovered that the monitor is not cheap, just inexpensive. The picture quality is excellent. The form factor is not a strain on my heart when I move it (My old monitor had to be moved by someone else) and the settings are so automatic it is a no brainer to do.
I use the Linux operating system and it is truly a plug and play device. I only changed the resolution and all the other settings were perfect.
If I was a rich man, I'd purchase five more of these monitors and give my wife and children a wonderful present.

I bought it for my retail business. It came in great condition and in comparison to others, this was an exceptional purchase. The resolution is excelent. Just what one would expect from a Samsung Syncmaster.
