I decided to purchase this monitor to replace an old, cumbersome monitor that was taking up too much desk space. This monitor saves a lot of space. The picture quality is excellent, and it was very easy to hook up. I haven't had any problems with it, and would recommend it. Samsung got the highest rating in Consumer Reports, and their review is more technical than mine. I had a 17" screen before, and this is fine for me. My boyfriend has a Samsung monitor with a 19" screen, and that is even nicer. If you have the choice, I would consider purchasing the larger screen. I bought this monitor because the price was more reasonable.
My purchase was for home use , The monitor itself is a space saver .Its Color and its resolution is excellent by normal settings . I used this moniter also with a brand new Nvidia 7600Gt I was blown away at the colors , resolution and the advanced settings which in the most basic form I was amazed . If I must say any neg thing about this monitor is that there are 6 buttons on the right botton of this monitor used for settings , you are unable to read which buttons and symbols from a normal desk space distance , The buttons are not highlighted to identify which is which . So Speaking for myself ,I was difficult for me to set up monitor with the given screen controlls I would recommend doing it through your device settings and or video card settings .
Have purchased 15 of these units for my business - 7 at retail, and 8 from ebay. The quality is consistent, and these monitors provide an image that's ideal for basic home/office use.
Backlighting is bright, though not completely even from top to bottom of the screen. Color is excellent, and menu controls allow plenty of adjustments, but the buttons are bit hard to see (black on black..) Pixel defects are extremely rare - I've seen only one bad pixel from one unit - the rest have been perfect.
Unbeatable choice for users who expect high quality at a reasonable price.
