Samsung SGH R225 (T-Mobile)

Old phone with none of the new stuff on it. It works. Just outdated. Bulky compared to the flip phones.

How very odd it is to be reviewing a 6 year old phone. I don't care for IMing and my employer will not allow any camera or camera phone on the worksite ( security reasons ). As I'm an old fart who uses a cell phone simply as a phone I'm glad I found one to replace mine!

First off besides being the most durable phone I have ever owned This handy little phone is VERY user friendly and instantly when you try it you will feel right at home. The R225 has a very nice design and easy to click buttons for sending text messages unlike those annoying Nokia phones that everyone seems to love. This is also one of the first phones with GSM technology so that you can just stick in a sim card and you will be on your way. That is one of the reasons I still have this phone. I keep this phone as a spare for whenever I need something reliable that wont run dead after an hours of talking. No color screen but It does have a nice blue backlight Which in some cases it is really better than the color screen because it is easy to see in daylight and it lets your battery last much longer.
This phone may not have all the functions of a new phone like a camera and mp3 player but when only the most tough and reliable will do this phone is always there.

I originally had this phone when it first came out, and really liked it. After it got dropped, they upgraded me to a Nokia phone that I could never get used to. Just preferred this type of phone I guess because I had gotten so used to it. It does have one feature that the Nokia didn't, the display is lit, which makes it easier to see the time of day, etc.
This has been a very good phone, especially for the price; and I would definately recommend it as a second or backup phone. It is very good for those that like a simple, no frills, not all the bells & whistles type cell phone.

I BOUGHT THIS SAMSUNG SGH R225 BECAUSE IT'S EXACTLY THE TYPE OF PHONE GHANAIANS CAN USE IT IN GHANA.IT'S AFFORDABLE:CHEAP, IT,S GSM 9OO UNLOCKED; AND AN AVERAGE PERSON WILL BE ABLE TO BUY IT. I AM GOING TO SHIP ALL THE PHONES TO GHANA IO SELL THEM.IT MIGHT BE OUTMODED IN THE STATES BECAUSE OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT IN THE USA, BUT IN MY COUNTRY ITS OK.

This is the absolute best phone ever. It is the 3rd I have purchased (I have several cell phone numbers). The clarity both sound and reception is great. The display and setting ate easy to work with.

Excellent phone for the price. It is a dual band GSM unlocked phone which accepts a European Sims card. It will work well in France but will have limited reception in the UK because it lacks the 1800 band used there. I'm only going to London so it will be fine. A world phone for about $30 can't beat it. It can also be used in the US with a T Mobile pay as you go card.

It is a simpler older phone make no mistake about it, but very very VERY practical, good reception and volume. The lighting on it is bright and a good color too. I got mine in 2003 and since then I updated 5 months ago to a PDA/smartphone, but I will still use my R225 when I go skiing or other outdoor/sports activites. My parents both have this phone also. This phone is so tough that it survived being dropped in the freakin' toilet TWICE, dried up and worked flawless, my parents did just about everything to it as well and all of ours still work!

PROS:
+bright blue color display that I often used as flashlight in the dark (also
adjustable to lower brightness)
+good reception for its era of cell phones
+durable and tough!!!
+Just the right size
+People hear you loud and clear (98% of the time)
+Calendar, memo and the alarm are practical and easy to use
+Cheap accessories (generic) and easily found in many different stores
+Good button configuration, easily dial without looking at pad (or text message)

CONS:
-will occasionally freeze up (at which point you turn OFF unit, turn back on, no
harm done)
-2 color screen ..........consider the era and the price
-Ran out of phone bank memory several times (I keep too many numbers in general)
-Tough little screen, but without cover and exposed to inevitable scratches.

All in all a good phone, especially if you are looking at a neat little expendable phone ;-)

Well I bought this for my mom and she says she loves it and it works very well. Ebay makes it very easy to do transactions!

the phone is cheap but the battery was almost dead,probably phone sellers should check on battery life as its what makes a phone!!!!!!!

It is an excellent phone with good reception. However some of the features are very outdated.... like the ring tones are tingy and alarm doesnt have snooze but good for reception and user friendly!

The phone came as advertised on eBay.I was happy with the seller who shiped it on time as promised.I will be willing to buy such a telephone and from the same seller.

i like this phone for the price that it was, it saved me from having to pay a high deductable with my phone company. it is easy to carry, a great size and i love the ring tones, but i am very limited to the things that i can do on this phone as far as being able to save certain messages, on the phone settings i cannot put my name to show on the screen like on my old phone, and the aim that i do not understand. for the price i paid though i do like it and i would not have gone any other way as far as getting a phone. i did the right thing in purchasing it through ebay.

I was not able to enjoy it because the seller sold me a faulty product. My purpose for buying the product was for my son. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because he's only 12 and has already lost or broken 3 different phones, so I thought that I would find a low priced product in good working condition here for him.

Ist. consideration was it being a gsm phone usable in Ghana, West Africa.
2nd. consideration was price, inespensive functional phone for basic talk and
listen
3rd. consideration was this phone has proven to be dependable and functional

Hi.I bought this brand four years ago for the 1'st time and I was using until unfortunately a few weeeks ago I lost it.I tried my best everywhere to find but couldn't.During this four years I had no any problem or headache using this product and I loved it.In fact it's wonderful and I'm very satisfy.The design,function,size,color,quality and everything is fine.There is nothing to dislike so why should I lie .Anyway I was willing too much to get somehow so that the best way was ebay.In the past I purchased another items from ebay and it wasn't my first time.Recently I bought one for myself and the second one is for my sister because her birthday is coming soon and I'd like to give to her as a gift.Don't think in your mind that I'm a business man .I'm just a ordinary person .That's all I had and It's true.Have a good time.

PRICE WAS GOOD ARRIVED IN POOR CONDITION. ONLY ONE PHONE WORKED. OTHER PHONE WOULD NOT HOLD CHARGE. WOULD NOT BUY FROM THEM AGAIN....

Phone is lightweight and easy to use. Ring tones are limited but the overall package was great. Battery life is great and sound quality is great. I am very happy with the phone.

it's a good cell phone comparing the price. A little old nad the battery life is short. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with it.

nice sleek little phone. dependable, and reliable however it is not durable enough for the working guy that keeps his phone in his pocket. my wife has one and its longevity has been great... though I'd try on and broke it within two months.... so I got another one because I like the phones ease of use, go figure...

Easy to read indoors and out. Simple menu. No extras to break! Fantastic reception. Nice size. Sturdy if dropped. Easy to use buttons.
