This phone is great so far... I had no trouble whatsoever to activate it, and all the functions work as they should. It's a simple phone that is very easy to use, and has clear reception. It may not have fancy options like other phones do, but it allows me to text, take pics and download ringtones. Good enough for me!!
I bough it because it was cheaper then buying it out of Wal-Mart brand new. When I received the phone, I could not activate it. I emailed the seller about it and they gave me back a full refund.
It is a good phone for a teenager w/ camera, text and bluetooth capabilities. It is a good value phone for the money. Excellent battery life and easy to use display.
I bought a "no contract phone". The phone was in the packaging and seemingly fine until I took it to activate. I went to 3 Verizon stores and got the same answer. They all said the phone could not be activated. They guessed that someone got it free at WalMart. I don't really understand, but know I paid my money for nothing. I won't trust buying a phone from E-bay again. Sorry.
I had the phone for 2 weeks without using it. Then started using it. It worked well for 2 weeks, and then stopped functioning. I brought it to a VZ Store they said that the phone's internal circuitry was bad. There was no trauma to the phone. When I contacted the seller for a remedy, they suggested that I buy insurance after the fact, which is basically fraud. I said I wouldn't do this. They told me I was out-of-luck.
Emergency replacement phone, same brand but lower model than the original, It works great, but was formerly a pre-paid phone, so had to go to the verizon store to get it cleaned out so I could put a proper plan to it. Excellent condition.
The sound in the ear piece can be heard with no difficulty. I've found phones that if your ear isn't directly in front of the speaker, the volume is extremely low. Not on this Samsung phone, the clarity of the ear speaker is wonderful. The 'hands free' mode or "speaker on" mode is also clear. I've used it several times with no difficulty.
We purchased two of these phones because of the basic style and function. We, as a family, don't need all the gizmo's and gadgets, but this phone does really well for our day to day needs. What has been fun is taking pictures of people and then matching them with the incoming Caller ID. The children can physically see who is calling, instead of trying to read the Call ID number.
Overall, the phone is durable and pleasant to own/use. We purchased them new and directly from Verizon. The only issue I would change is the lack of decent ring tones. Granted, I could buy a few of them for a couple of bucks, but I just want a non-descrip, usable ring tone. I have settled on the old fashioned "RING - RING - RING" of days gone by, when phones were mounted on the wall. I get a few looks when the phones goes off, because everybody is used to the fancy ring tones.
I would definitely buy the phone again. It has not presented any problems to me.
I had a Motorola Windows Mobile based smartphone and the short version is I ended up from AT&T to Verizon, with this Samsung SCH-U410 phone. Going from a complex full-featured PDA/Smartphone to a basic phone was quite a change. After a week I liked the simplicity (KISS principle), and besides, PDAs are only toys that you don't really take full advantage of. The Samsung SCH-U410 does every thing a cellphone should do.
It's a pretty good phone all things considered. Has voice activated dialing so that comes in handy when driving, etc. Front screen has an analog clock or a digital readout with date, day, time, and status symbols. I prefer the digital one. It has texting, internet access, and a bunch of other features.
I really have nothing bad to say about this phone and I've had it for two weeks. Battery life is better than my previous phone and with normal use I charge it every 2~3 days. The only thing is it doesn't have very many ring tones, but you can fix that yourself: I found many sites on how to do this on the internet. It is a rather small phone but it sits well in the pockets without being being bulky.
I have not had this phone very long but it is a great upgrade from my last phone. I had a white chocolate phone that got wet and so i had to downgrade back to my 4 year old Samsung sch-a650 for a while. I guess pretty much anything would be better than that phone but the Samsung SCH-U410 is still a great phone. I wanted something pretty small and sleek with extra features, such as bluetooth.the only downside is that I've been pressing two keys at once by accident a few times from the way the key pad is set up, but that is very minor. Overall is a great phone, with a great look, and added features.
IT IS SMALL AND THIN--HAS BLUETOOTH---LOTS OF GREAT FEATURES---EASY TO USE---BRIGHT SCREENS---ANALOG CLOCK ON OUTSIDE CASE SCREEN IS A NICE CHANGE FOR A TOUCH OF THE PAST---CLOCK DOES NOT DISPLAY UNLESS YOU OPEN FLIP, OR YOU GET A CALL---I THINK IT IS GREAT FOR THE MODEST COST--I HAVE NOT HAD IT LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW ABOUT BATTERY LIFE, ETC.---STAY TUNED
