I looked at several units in the retail stores, decided on the one I wanted, and then searched e-bay for this particular model, the Samsung LN-S4692D 46 in. HDTV LCD Television. I was a bit nervous about making such a big purchase on-line, but the seller seemed trustworthy, a powerseller, and I got a great price. It arrived in good order, and once I got it up and running I loved it. I think my favorite part is the swivel stand. I works out perfect in a great room effect, when you want to turn it to one part of the room, as opposed to the other. The picture is great too, even when not using the HD channels. I think this unit is a good balance between price and cutting age technology. I'm very happy with my purchase...

We decided to buy this because our other TV was just a 27" analog and we decided to get rid of satellite. Just sick of being TV junkies. So we bought this huge TV to mainly play the Wii on and to watch movies on a big screen instead of paying $9.50 a person at the theaters...that would be almost $40 for a family of four per one night at the movies...not including another $20 if you want a tub of popcorn and 2 drinks!! So, if you don't go to the movies for 9 months (2x a month), we have just bought us our new TV! We have loved every bit of it. It has beautiful pixelation, cool features, and just plain gorgeous to look at! There was only one item about this that bugs us and that is the fact that the remote does not have good range. You can not sit across the room and be able to change the channel. But since we bought the Square Trade Warranty, this should be covered with no problem. Anyways, we do recommend the Samsung and especially if you can get it for the price we paid (under 1K).

This is a great TV with amazing picture quality. The screen is very bright and the colors are amazing. The black piano finish and the blue power button give it a slick look. Also, the look of this particular model is different than most other Samsung LCD screens because the control panel at the bottom is on an angle with the TV. My only regret is that I should have bought the full HD (1080P) model which is about the same price on e-bay.

Tuner did not work when set arrived. I contacted seller about it and got no response. Samsung is fixing it under warranty but I had to take it to them and I still have no TV.

I had looked and looked for months at televisions in the stores and could not find one for under $2000.00 for the size and kind I wanted. The picture on this television is just unbelieveable. Shipping was very reasonable in price and I received it very quickly.

I bought Tv because it was new. And a very good price. New this Tv would have sold for approx. $1699.00. I won the auction for $870.00.

I didn't know it's refurbished before I receieved it. It said"new" on the listing. A little disappointed.

I won this item in a no reserve auction but the seller refused to sell the tv to me after I had sent the payment to her through paypal for $966.00 !! This seller is still selling items on EBAY!!!! This seller should have been suspended from EBAY!! There is no telling how many people she has done this way!! There are laws that make retailers sell there items for what they are priced marked the sellers on ebay should have the same law!! And some sellers have on there no reserve auctions that the item is for sale in their home town or in their home town newspaper so they reserve the right to end the auction when they won't to this should not be allowed on EBAY !!If you place an item on a no reserve auction on Ebay they should not be able to pull the item and made to sell it for the winning bid price !! I know that Ebay make their money from sellers but if you keep letting sellers screw the buyers you soon want have any buyers to sale to !!

I disliked it because they sent me a blank computer disc instead of a TV. I had to file a report with Paypal, file a police report, spend $25 sending the disc back to the seller so it could be tracked and I still have no TV or my money back. It has been a very bad experience.

We bought a Samsung DLP TV in late 2005, and loved it until just recently. It started showing black vertical lines, and of course, my warranty had just run out. The estimate to repair this is 700.00, and a new one just like this is now down to 1200. I called Samsung, thinking I might they might help me out some on this, and they were nothing but rude to me. I will not buy another Samsung product.

after reviewing tv's for months i finally broke down and bought one. I've always liked samsung and after price comparing this was the best deal i found that day. My father also bought a 42 inch a couple of weeks before so i saw first hand how nice these lcd tv's are.

I bought this TV as a gift for the entire family. We were using the same TV for about 15 years and I figured it was time for an upgrade. Wow, what an upgrade. The Samsung LN-S4692D is a 46 inch LCD flat screen TV. The maximun resolution is 720p. I bought this TV just when 1080p TV's were available and becoming affordable. I would have had to pay roughly $1000 more for the same TV with 1080p resolution. After doing some research I found out that unless you are using a devise that is capable of 1080p output (think Blu-Ray or HD-DVD) then the pictue is actually worse on a higher resolution TV when being fed with a lower resolution source (480p for a progressive DVD, 1080i for an HD satellite feed). The picture is great for what we use it for, mostly non-HD satellite signals and DVD's. Once there are more over-the-air HD signals available and Blu-Ray or HD-DVD becomes affordable (by the way, this format war is stupid just like when Beta and the VCR came out) then this TV will be just fine at 720p.
The HDMI connection is great. I now only have one wire connecting my receiver to the TV. It's worth the extra money to buy a receiver that converts all signal into HDMI. Notice how I said converts and not upconverts. I don't believe devices are finding resolution out of thin air and giving you a higher resolution.
One more thing, expect paying an extra $250 for a wall mount if you plan on using it that way.
