Chet Atkins can stand toe to toe with any guitar player since it became eletrified. His unique style of playing graced the recordings of the Everly Brothers important late fifties work and countless others since then. Able to turn a basic chord progression into a nifty melody, his recordings are always new and refreshing.An inspiration to the young George Harrison, he was an impotant ingredient to the Beatles sound. On Ssils he's joined by Mark Knopfler and others who bring out the best in this clever underappreciated guitar hero. He was also a fine gentleman, class act all the way.
