Being a huge Rush fan, I found it easy to like this cd. Rush is one of the few bands that are truly perfect sounding when they play live. I enjoy their live add libs as well as the sound those three professionals produce. I enjoyed reading the book, written by the drummer(Niel Peart),that accompanied the cd's, that explained their Rio expirience. I attended their 30th anniversary tour, and this cd takes me back to that AWSOME concert.

Rush in Rio Triple Live CD - Masterful Musical Mecca

Pros: A magical, musical night captured for all time. Powerhouse performances. Electric crowd.
Cons: Some faded vocals at times.
In combination with the release of their double-DVD Rush in Rio, which documents the final concert of their 2002 Vapor Trails tour, Rush has also released a Rush in Rio triple CD as an audio supplement to the DVD visuals. Or, as percussionist Neil Peart so eloquently stated, "...for some people (that) might prefer to listen to us without having to look at us..." Well, after witnessing the DVD video on the big screen (See: http://www.epinions.com/content_116270206596) and having seen Rush live twice on their latest, and hopefully not final tour (See: http://www.epinions.com/content_2751176836).

Rush Throws a Party for 40000 People in Rio

Pros: Makes you feel like you're there - a true audience experience
Cons: Vocals a bit tiny; epics are shortened
I could give you any number of reasons why you should go out and buy In Rio, the latest live CD from Rush. I could tell you about the cute little Simpsons clip at the end of The Big Money. Or maybe the outstanding live versions of songs from Rush s latest studio CD, Vapor Trails. Or that In Rio is a slightly different live CD from Rush, because it s a single complete concert in direct form instead of a selection of songs from several concerts, all nice and clean. But there is only one reason why any true Rush fan would ever want to purchase In Rio, and it can be summed up in two simple words:.

Pros: This album is exceptionally fun to listen to.
Cons: Wrecks the continuity of 4 studio albums then a live album sequence.
My Opinionated Adventure starts out on Tuesday. . . Session Start (Yosi-:FauxBear): Tue Oct 21 12:48:09 2003 FauxBear: hey, saw a triple live CD by rush at target today... Yosi-: Different Stages FauxBear: any good? Yosi-: umm.. yes and no FauxBear: I saw it and thought of you. Yosi-: ahhh - thanks Session Close (FauxBear): Tue Oct 21 13:41:56 2003 It wasn t until Friday that I learned about the album RUSH in RIO. . . Although what I told FauxBear is true, it wasn t correct. RUSH has in the past stayed true to the formula of doing four studio albums release a live album then do four more.

Review for "Rush in Rio"
Review created: 08/08/04

Pros: already considered one of rock's greatest live recordings
Cons: missing a few Rush classics......but there were so many
There are two kinds of popular bands in this world. First are the bands that are overplayed on the radio, are seen all the time on TV, and churn out catchy pop songs like there is no tomorrow. They are rarely very musically talented, relying on catchy, but simple and repetitive beats. They also rarely write their own songs. They tour when they want to and make millions doing little. As the old Dire Straits song goes, these bands get their money for nothin' and their chicks for free. The other type of popular band is the type that you don't hear on the radio very much. They get their...

Love Rush. Not the DVD.

Pros: Great to see Rush embrace the DVD video trend.
Cons: Mediocre audio (for Rush anyway).
Let me start by saying that any die-hard Rush fan will probably love this DVD regardless of its content. That being said, I was disappointed with the disc's audio quality. I've been fortunate enough to have seen two Rush concerts and know just how accurate their live sound can be. I was looking for a DVD disc that I could use to enjoy both the visual and auditory elements of my home theater and knew from experience that Rush's concerts delivered on both aspects. I picked Rush because I figured the audio would really shine in 5.1 surround. That's where I was let down. The performances on the...
