Rocky III
Many have said that the original Rocky was actually Sylvester Stallone's autobiography - the story of a young kid from the street with the desire to win. If the Rocky series is that...Rocky III was where Sylvester Stallone moved to Hollywood and got soft with such favorites as "Stop or My Mom will Shoot" and "Rhinestone".
Rocky III is what happens when stars start to believe their own hype. The story picks up with Rocky being a total goofball and riding his popularity like pretty much everybody from any reality show (including Donald Trump). Rocky is even boxing with the fictional professional wrestler Thunderlips (A fantastic cameo by professional wrestler Hulk Hogan). In the end, he must go back to his roots of training when the persistent Clubber Lang (a highly under-rated performance by Mr. T) challenges Rocky to a title fight. I guess Sylvester Stallone would like for you to believe that Rocky III is more of his continuing saga, but I don't think that that is exactly going to happen with his Rambo IV coming out soon.
Highlights:
- Mr. T pitying all of the fools in the movie.
- A fantastic boxing strategy of "I'll let you beat on me until you are tired out and then I'll open the can of hurt on you...brilliant. I have personally tried this unsuccessfully on the tough streets of Philly, but I end up passing out before I can fight back.
- "Eye of the Tiger"...I don't need to say any more.
Lowlight:
- The training scenes with Carl Weathers. I am not sure if prancing around in the ocean with Action Jackson in the short-shorts is really making me think that he could take down BA Barracus...but what do I know.

Rocky III is different from the first two movies in numerous ways. But the fight between Rocky and Thunderlips is fun to watch. And then there are two fights with Clubber, which are both good. The training gets intense and is great to watch. Some sad moments and overall is a 5 star movie. I highly recommend this movie.

) I am a huge fan of the "Rocky" movies. Rocky's determination to overcome obstacles and stand up for himself and his family is something anyone can admire. Sylvester Stallone created a true "knockout."

I am a HUGE Rocky fan and I think Rocky III is arguably the best movie in the best Boxing series ever made. With special appearances from Mr T and Hulk Hogan makes it even better. It makes a great gift for any occasion. I GUARANTEE you get your money's worth on this one!!!!!!!

Take this film for what it is, the first well written boxing movie, with realistic fight scenes. Rocky makes us belive as few more recient sports movies do that he is a real underdog, with problems. He has more then a few rough edges, these edges give him depth and likability. The writting comes from a place that we can all go to. Mickey being disappointed in Rocky choosing to be a loan shark instead of pushing his natural talent as a boxer. Its easy for the audience to put themselves in Rockys gloves, see things through Rockys somtimes simplistic eyes.

This is the best of the Rocky movies. Everbody always says the first one is the best. But, a character like Clubber Lange is just beyond awesome.

This is the third installment of the movie series Rocky, and in my opinion, the second best of the set. Be ready for two boxing matches, as Rocky fights Hulk Hogan for charity, and of course the regular fight at the end of the movie. This is a terrific movie!
