Robin Hood - Season 1 (2007, DVD)

If you like the legend of Robin Hood, you'll love this set! While some aspects (costuming, etc.) aren't exactly period, the characters are engaging and the story is well told. It's suspenseful, romantic, and humorous.

I was very happy with the purchase I made. The dvd was sealed and everything seemed brand new. The items was also shipped immediately.

This DVD is excellent if you like action, adventure and a little bit of the romantic feel. It holds up well to the legend that everyone knows that is Robin Hood. The characters are well portrayed and even the villains you learn to understand. Season II is just as good but I won't spoil it ;)

This show rocks! Love this show! We started watching it on BBC, and we fell in love with it, so I bought it for my husband for our anniversary. If you have never seen the show, get the season 1, you won't be disappointed, just waiting for the 2nd season to come out so we can get that one too :)

This series is awesome. Sure we all know Robin Hood stole from the rich and gave to the poor...but thats about all we know of the story. This BBC Series takes an in-depth look at the adventures of Robin Hood and presents it in such a way to leave you on the edge of your seat wanting more. It has this way of drawing you into it. You get the range of emotions..when they are victorious you are happy, when they thwart the bad guys you are bursting with glee, and when they cry, you cry. I had seen many ads for this series and thought it was neat...then I forgot about it and recently I found a video with clips from the show played to a song and it inspired me to purchase the set to watch it. I am really glad I did, now I'm just sad that Season 2 is so new and thus so expensive. There is one disc for special features which I must admit that I haven't had time to watch but I'm sure its great too.

Having only seen a couple episodes of the show on TV, I decided to take a chance and purchase the season 1 set. I was not disappointed. The first episode perhaps moved a bit slow but the action quickly picked up in the shows to follow. For those of us that loved shows such as Hercules, Xenia, and the shortlived Sinbad, this show is sure to become one of your favorites. A nice blend of humor, drama, action, beautiful scenery and of course one of the all time favorite stories - Robin Hood. Some violence but a fairly clean show otherwise without the common bad language and sexual content of so many shows today.

I enjoy the series on BBC and wanted to purchase it. I am happy to be able to watch it without commercials.

I had not seen this season before I decided to buy it. I thought that it looked good from the previews and I was not disappointed. This was a great series and I really enjoyed watching it!

It is fun and filled with characters you'll love and ones you'll love to hate. A new twist and turn around every corner.

THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST SERIES IN A LONG TIME. THE WRITERS ARE EXCELLENT,THE STORY LINE IS VERY RIVETING AND THE CHARACTERS ARE GREAT. I'D SEEN EVERY EPISODE ON BBC BUT COULDN'T WAIT TO WATCH THEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN ON DVD. DEFINITELY SOMETHING I WOULD RECOMMEND!!!!!

I was so tickled to find this on ebay at a great price. I was very happy at the delivery time and there aren't any problems with the cd at all. I'm a single parent and to find this at this price was great.

I bought this dvd collection because I missed some of the episodes on tv. And because I am a huge fan of Robin Hood! But maybe the main reason for buing it, was the extremely low price I had to pay! Redicoulus price for a great dvd-collection! And it arrived very quickly too, so all I have to say, is that I am very satisfied and thankful for this buyer and this website!

When I first saw this show on BBCA, I wasn't sure I would like it. I wasn't crazy about the first episode, but I decided to try it a little longer, and I do like it now. I'm glad I gave it a chance! It is a very good mixture of history and modern themes for these modern times. Certain elements to me are not needed, such as having another girl in his gang besides Maid Marian, but again, it's a modern theme. The action is wonderful and there are a lot of original scripts that I have not seen in other action shows. Robin is still a gallant figure but I also like that he is younger than some of the other Robin Hoods portrayed in films. Younger makes him have to grow up fast because he was immature and so he has to learn by mistakes. People actually get hurt on this show and die, some are key characters. Some are hard to let go of because you become attached and want to see then in next week's show! I recommend this show to any families who would like a cleaner show with action and true-to-life characters. I have seen no sex in these shows, as of yet. There is very little cussing or swearing. The music is riviting and inspiring as good as many feature films. I rate the first season with an A+ and hope this show lasts a few seasons more.

This series is the type of adventure that you imaging happened in the 13th century. Jonas Armstrong plays a handsom Robin of Locksley, who, after coming home from being one of King Richard the Lion Hearted's gurads.

It's a wonderful series and anyone who enjoys historical dramas, will love this series.

This updated version of Robin Hood from the BBC is a great series. Great cast and the writing is fresh. While not true to the original Robin Hood story line (there's no Friar Tuck)it has action, suspense and true love. What more could you ask for?

I bought this series for my wife as a birthday present. We had rented it from a local movie rental store and absolutly fell in love with the series. We liked it so much we ended up watching it in one sitting. Granted we were incredibly tired after, but it was worth it. Robin is a very strong character and is very fleshed out and really goes into his code of honor and why he has become an outlaw. His gang of merry men are done very well, and even has characters that are in the legend of Robin Hood but rarely mentioned in mainstream adaptations. The other grea selling point in this series is Marian. She is a very strong supporting character and a very strong female roll. I have never seen her depicted in this manor and loved it. She was always just a love interest for robin and was played as the "damsel in distress". This is very much not the case in this. The final thing I would like to touch on are the bad guys. They are amazing. You really love to hate these guys. But they are funny in their own right. The sherrif is incredibly funny in a sick sadistic sort of way, and guy plays a great antagonist constantly after Marian's affection. There really wasn't much bad about this series, at least in season 1... I strongly recommend this for anyone that has ever been a fan of Robin Hood. And for those who have never really gotten into it before, its a great starting point, and always great for some laughs and even its own fair share of touching moments.

This show is a must see for any Robin Hood fans. It brings a very nice twist to the orignal story line, with lots of action. It was a great price.

BBC's Robin Hood is a treat for all. It cast members are fabuluous & the storylines are so interesting. This is not the Errol Flynn Robin Hood of years past, but the cast members are earthy, fallible & very enjoyable to watch whether good or bad. I also have Season 2 which is just as entertaining!

I loved the series. I bought because it was still in the factory packagin, and it wasn't an outragous price, and the shipping prices were resonalbe. It was my first item that I have bought on ebay, and I am pleased that I got it from this seller. I am pleased to say that it was exactly how it was described, and it came in 7 days just like the seller said it would. I do wish the seller would have stayed in contact better, but it was still okay communication. I would definetly recommend this seller and this item to my friends. Thank you.

This dvd is a must have for anyone who is a fan of this type of show. The BBC has captured our hearts and our minds with their verson of this fabled hero. The locations,caliber of acting and the scripts are the most realistic version I have ever seen. Jonas Armstrong brings so much to the title character. The rest of the cast are no slouches either, for that matter.All in all, I would recommend this highly rated series to anyone.Season 2 is already out there for pre-orders so I am waiting impatiently.

Fantastic scenery and a strong cast, this Robin Hood has set a new standard! The script is well written, and the cast has obvious chemistry which translates into a believable story. Keith Allen (Sherrif of Nottingham) is excellent in the role, with his blithe witticisms and infuriating deviousness. Jonas Armstrong (Robin Hood) brings passion and humor the title role, although not necessarily the quintessential hero, being slight of build and stature. Lucy Griffith (Lady Marion) is an admirable counterpart to Jonas' Robin, and provides a 21st century independence and spirit to her character that is usually lacking in the role. The show is riddled with clever banter, although the storyline can drag from time to time. My favorite episodes are the season's two-part finale, Episode 12: "Return of the King" and Episode 13: "Clue: No".

The Robin Hood Series - Season 1 from the BBC is a must have set! This is a young modern version of Robin Hood and his band of thieves that will keep you entertained throughout the entire series. This series has it all...drama, comedy, romance and action. Be warned...this is not always true to the traditional stories of Robin Hood...so approach the show with an open mind and you will be pleasantly rewarded.

We love Robin Hood. I love the actors they have been cast very well. This TV series is my favorite TV series so far. I don't want to over rate this, but it is so good and I love it. We saw one episode at a friends house and came home that night and bought the series. At first at the friends house I wasn't much into it because it was Robin Hood and it had been done so many times before. When it arrived in the mail and we started watching it the cast grabs your attention and then you start to love Robin Hood, Marion, the Sherif, Mulch, and the rest. Great Buy from a Great Seller!!

I absolutely love this series. I can watch it over and over again, I can't wait until season 2! Gr8 quality DVDs and fun all th time. The actors are great! I can't say enough!
