This is an early Tom Cruise movie, who like almost every young man thinks about losing his virginity. But he nor anybody else would have ever dreamed of losing it the way he did. It many areas it is comical how he gets into some of the situations and how he gets out of them.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and laughed at some of the more arkward situations thinking back to my own early years.

There are some sexual content and situations so parents should be mindful when watching it with their children. On the other hand, it could be viewed as an excellent way to begin up the subject of sex and how to deal with the matter in a easy and comical way without becoming to embarrassing for either party.

This is a standard everyone should have in their collection. Dancing in your underwear is always appropriate to Bob Seger. Tom Cruise had this as a stepping stone on to bigger and higher paying jobs, but none could have been any better.

This is a Tom Cruse classic movie that teens or adults will enjoy
I am a fan of his early work before he became a hyperactive annoying egomaniac

This is one movie that will be in my DVD library for life. Tom Cruise at his finest! It has all the ingredients of making this a teen genre classic with drugs, pimps, sex and all the drama to boot. I liked it a lot and would recommend it to all!!

Risky Business: Pretty Woman for Teenage Boys
Review created: 08/11/04
by: beckytcy -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Cruise, style, fun, sexy

Cons:
a little slow at times, morality

When you re a teenager, one of the most exciting things that can happen is being left home alone when your parents go on vacation. Think of the possibilities for debauchery! Like any high school student with the house to himself, Joel Goodsen (Tom Cruise) wants to take advantage of his newfound freedom. In Paul Brickman s seminal (in more ways than one) teenage comedy, Joel finds that reality can be more exhilarating than his fantasy life if he says, f*ck it and just goes for it. Sex, drugs, car chases, pimps, and more sex. It s certainly more fun than taking your SATs. Though it s more than..

  Not at all Risky......

Pros:
Great Teen genre Film

Cons:
None

Where's the risk? This was a sure fire hit from the start. Take a young Tom Cruise, add a few great young performers, add an intelligent script, and a dash of teen escapades and you have certain success! "Risky Business" is the best Teen flick ever. A little sophistication and teenage romps makes this film a wonderful teen film. Joel Goodson (Tom Cruise) takes advantage of a parent free weekend to the hilt. He lives more in one weekend than he probably will ever again. Joel begins his adventure with a call girl, Lana (Rebecca De Mornay) and from there things actually gets a little crazy. Joel.

  Grab My Business

Pros:
A Classic Movie, Pure 80s, Tom Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay are great

Cons:
None (it's too by I didn't have this much fun at 17)

"You watch so many movies and you haven't seen this?" I keep hearing this over and over again, when friends ridicule me for my movie choices or they can't believe I have not seen certain classics. I saw a bit of Risky Business on television, and it looked really good, so I went out to go get a copy to rent. After all, Risky Business is one of those movies that I haven't that is a classic. Joel Goodson (Tom Cruise) is a teenager striving to be as succesful as his friends. In the senior year of high school, students are competing to get into the best schools and set the grounds for their future.

  Goodson Gone Bad

Pros:
As all great satires, more beneath the surface than appears. Great script, acting, and directing.

Cons:
Throw your morals by the way side.

One of these days Paul Brickman is going to get his due and this film will be called one of the greats. Paul who? Brickman was the one who wrote and directed Risky Business and the small family drama Men Don t Leave with Joan Cusack. Then he just kind of disappeared from cinemadom. Not quite Terrence Malick, but what do you want? You see, there have been two films (and even with that I m probably being too generous) of note that have used The Graduate as a blueprint. One of them was the recent The Pallbearer with Mark Schwimmer as the Benjamin Braddock character and Barbara Hershey as Coo-coo.

Tom Cruise took Risky Business and made it to Princeton..

Pros:
Tom Cruise on his underwear and making love on a train

Cons:
How to make a college kid to act as a pimp? Storyline is quite lame.

So there it is. Tom Cruise pretending to play electric guitar on his underwear. Scene so famous this year American Idol TOP2 were playing the same scenario on their final show. But really, is this a movie worth watching? I'd say yes, but then again I am hopelessly in love with Tom Cruise so to me this is just watching a cute boy before he grew up to be a sexy man. Movie plot is kind of lame and even insulting on the way it tells you that being a hooker is alright. But there is so many brilliant scenes between actors that I don't mind. I love watching Tom Cruise playing shy rich college boy...
