Admittedly, I'm hardcore EC / BB !!! With that said, this is a CD worth being in the stable of two such greats. I own copies of all of EC's music as well as an EC Fender Strat / Gibson Luceille. I'm also a hardcore Blues fan, so perhaps when I give this a 5/5 rating, I'm biased in every sense, but when you hear the CD I'm sure you'll agree.
The King of the Blues and the King of the Whiteboy Blues. Actually about half the songs are blues and the other half more in the R&B vein. A surprising inclusion is the old Sam and Dave hit "Hold On, I'm Coming". Of course great guitar interplay throughout, although on "Hold On, I'm Coming" they just trade these short jabs that I've heard before when various guitar players jam with B.B., and it doesn't allow for much melodic development, to say the least. All in all a great blues album though, what do you expect from two masters. Why did I decide to buy it? When I saw I might be able to get it for three bucks. I ain't on Ebay looking for a deal, I'm looking for a steal.
i just got through reading Clapton's autobiography and it was mentioned in the book, i have,nt got that CD, like BB king and the blues so looked for it on ebay and voila!! its a great CD if you like the bluesy sounds od Eric and BB
great music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!great music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is, IMHO, one of the best blues collaboration projects ever recorded. Both artists have different styles but they compliment each other on this CD. No matter your style of blues, electric, Chicago, delta, acoustic you will be blown away by this CD.
I like how on time they were and the cd was great no faws what so ever. Great people to deal with. If I had to buy something agian I would use them and I tell my friends about them.
Eric Clapton is inspired on this album. When two musicians play together the product is not just one persons talent and ideas added to the other's. In math, and music, product implies multiplication. BB King is known for playing the "right" notes to convey the feeling of the blues, not much superfluous flash. Solid.
