This two disk game will provide you with hours upon hours of gaming delight. This game features elements which are consistent and true to the prior Resident Evil games, however, offers many improvements. But perhaps most importnatly, it's addictive and just plain old fun to play.

As far as improvements...you no longer have to continually find a storage box to manage your inventory - you now carry it all with you in an attache case. Any number of weapons can be bought from "merchant" vendors and may be upgraded at your discretion. The puzzles are not as tedious nor do they (or any part of the game) involve you going back and forth and around and around in circles over the same areas. This game in much more linear and is a true platformer. The zombies and other badies are much more animated and not so campy - making it so much more meaningful when you blow their head off. The mid-level bosses are completely new and unlike anything seen in this series before. Valuable items are easy to spot and you will have more than enough ammo if you are even the least bit conservation.

The story is simply "save the girl" so you don't have to put up with this mindless Umbrella conspiracy - T-Virus gibberish - although you still find the occsional pointless "report" laying about. Who reads those anyway. This game may be considered challenging by some, but I never felt frustrated or that technical flaws were to blame for my demise. This is one of those games that after you've played it for six or seven hours you begin to realize just how different "where you are now" is from "where you started" (creepy village, to gothic castle, to retro army base...etc). And finally, every single area within Resident Evil 4 is satisfying and unique. So whether you're being chased by a truck full of zombies, riding and sniping bad guys in a gondola, finding your way through a courtside maze, being stalked by a blind prisoner with razor sharp claws, or having dynamite thrown at you from a hilltop - you're sure to be experiencing hand cramping well into the night.

I bought this game a few weeks back and have been playing it over and over!!! Family and friends enjoy it as well.It's a very welcome edition to the Resident Evil collection I already own! I thought that it would be alittle more challenging but over all I really like it!

When the game starts you see a quick recap of the events in the three titles that preceded it, making it accessible to players who are new to the Resident Evil franchise and also reintroducing the game's main character, Leon Kennedy, who is one of the coolest characters I've had the good fortune to play as. He has already seen some freaky and awful stuff (he is one of the main playable characters in RE 2) so he isn't afraid to face the endless stream of monsters that are intent on killing him, he is also not afraid to make a one liner, (especially if it infuriates his enemies.) The game is not limited to how cool Leon is, it also delivers it's share of scares and has graphics that still stand up today despite being released on the gamecube in '05.
Another aspect of the game that makes it so great is the way it revolutionized the Resident Evil franchise with it's endlessly entertaining combat system that allows you to target and hit critical areas for different effects, such as headshots make for faster kills, and shots to the leg will trip your enemy causing them to fall to the ground. Also weapons selection is good and each weapon can be upgraded to max out damage, ammo capacity, fire rate, and also minimizing reload time.
Another strong point in the game is the voice acting, which is excellent, for the main character as well as the supporting cast and enemies.

Anyone who has never played a Resident Evil (or survival horror) game can still greatly enjoy this title, and any fan of the franchise will love this excellent continuation of the popular series.

This is the best Resident evil game I have ever played it has the best graphics yet, the best plot, the best character looking effects not only Leon and Ada but even the enemies look awesomely scary especially the women ganados, they scare me more than the big bad guys even the guy with the chain saw. Overall this is the best Resident Evil game yet until Resident Evil 5 comes out and who knows how that one is going to turn out. I am really happy to own a lot of Resident Evil games because I am a big fan but i am especially glad I own this one for the Gamecube and for the PS2.

I bought this for my Grandson who is 12. I am writing what he thinks about this game. He says its 1 of those games anyone would like. But it does not follow the other resident evil games, because you are not killing as many zombies and are killing more phsyco people. He says he would want it any way.

This game was the most fun i have ever played on the gamecube. Putting in countless hours playing the game because of the long story modes and most of the mini-games Like the mercenaries. But if your looking at this game for the Wii i would just go for the Wii version. I dont know if it has the same Visuals as the gamecube but i thought the gamecube Version was bad (On the Wii).

Shipping took a little long then I would have liked or expected but overall was a good transaction. Got the game for very cheap, Everything was just as stated in the ebay auction. Honest eBayer here.

It was excellent service. I purchased an item for my young grand kids and I was not aware how the cubes are rated. Game is great. Has hours and hours of intense gameplay!!! The whole series is great!! Everyone has been the same but in it's own way just a bit different!!!!!

when you take a game like re4...and you give it a weird controler like the one for gamecube...your asking for troule... the only good re4 game..was for wii... ill put it this way... re4 is so not worth your money... or time... that i shoudlnt even be writing this review right now... but im bord..so i am...

This is by far the best action and role playing game that has ever come out ! By far the best resident evil game that is or ever will be out !!!! A must have for the avid gammer !!!!!

Its like resident evil 1&2 but fun. Its a nice shoot'em up game. The controls take so get some getting used to but once you get its pretty darn fun.

and now my collection is complete. i used to own a copy of this title, but it got misplaced in the move to my dorm. the description was right. everything about this game from the cover to the discs is mint quality. i can't wait to play to it, but i'm going to play the series in order starting with resident evil o.

I'm really impressed with this game...The graphics are the best i've ever seen on a Gamecube. The gameplay is lots and lots of fun...Each chapter has it's own unique thing about it..so the game doesn't get boring..

There are puzzles,creepy villians and huge bosses...And the game is actually some what long so it just ends up being a real joy to play....I can't think of a think I dislike.

I decided to buy this game because of all the raved reviews...And im glad I did buy it because owning a Gamecube without this game is just a waste of a Gamecube...It's like owning a PS2 and not having God Of War or having an XBOX and not owning any Halo games...It's just soo good.

This game has beautiful graphics, excellent A.I, and a very good storyline. It can be a tad bit difficult at times but thats probably the only thing that I remotely dislike about it but of course it keeps me playing. One amazingly, awesome game.

My daughter wanted this game after seeing the movie. She loves killing the zombies and has not found it too difficult to figure out. Good story line. Graphics are good and the blood spatter is cool. Game comes highly recommended from us.

Capcom does it again. This game is a classic. Once you get used to the new control/fully 3d gameply you'll love. It only takes a few mins before you blasting scumbags off the face of the earth.

Resident Evil 4 is the fourth installment of Capcom's legendary survivor horror franchise. However, this is not like the previous Resident Evil's. This Resident Evil revolutionized the franchise in positive ways that are still incredible to see how Capcom pulled it off. It was the 2005 Game of the Year, it is one of the greatest games of all time, and definitely the best survivor horror game ever created.

The story is one of the best as well, but I will not reveal all the details so gamers can experience it themselves. But basically, you control Leon Kennedy, as he is assigned with the retreavial of the U.S.A. presidents missing daughter. You are in a village in Spain, where you begin your investigation but the locals are not too friendly. Needless to say the story picks up right after that and never lets go. It is definitely a blast.

The controls are smooth and very responsive. Capcom is one of the best when it comes to gameplay and controls, and Resident Evil 4 is another testament to this. The graphics are top notch, the Gamecubes very best. Everything is highly detailed and just beautiful to admire. The voice over's are also great, as everything from Leons voice to the locals, to the presidents daughter is just nailed. It fits perfectly with the characters, and never get annoying. Speaking of sound, the music is just amazing as well. The frightful themes you will experience in the game make it that much better because of the music that will be played. It definitely fits with the atmosphere of the game, and is just a great soundtrack to listen too.

The computer AI is amazing. This are definitely not your basic Resident Evil zombies. These enemies will surround you, work together and corner you to the point that you just get so nervous about what is going to happen next. This is how survivor horror is done, by making you, the player, feel totally helpless at times. Of course, when you get out of a sticky situation it just feels great, as you overcame a great deal of adversity.

The classic Resident Evil frights are still there. You will definitely feel your heart skip a beat when playing this game, and scream when something unexpected happens. Classic gaming moment abound in this game, and they are memorable. Whether it is running form a pack of angry villagers, only to turn around and find out they are running right after you in a pack, or you entering a romm and turning and seeing someone there with a weapon, or hearing a chain saw close too you but not knowing exactly where that sound is coming from, till its too late. These are moments that will stay with you till the end of the game, and you will not forget them.

I highly recomend this to all gamers wanting to experience the very best gaming has to offer. This is the best Resident Evil ever made, the greatest survivor horror game ever, and one of the greatest games of all time. It is just an amazing gaming experience that should not be missed.

I like the fact that you can blow away everybody. I also liked the fact that you can choose any weapon and that's available to you and the fact that you can upgrade it is pretty freaking sweet. The graphics in this game are also awesome along with the story line. There's not a whole lot about this game that I don't like, except it could have alot more lockable features than already has. I bought this game because I heard good things about it and that's why I bought it.

They'll be talking about this game long after all the Game Cubes are littering land fills:)

I was always a fan of Resident Evil Games from the original Play Station times. When I got to play this game, however, I could not go back to playing any other Resident Evil Game because It's next to impossible to give up the controls, look and feel of this game to play another (past) part in the series. This title is the best Survival Horror game I ever played.

Here's why:

1. The controls are great, easy to learn
2. Over all design if the game is Superb (from graphics to sound)
3. There is constant action going on (I'm a strategy gamer) and it's not just mindless blood sport--you really have to think how, who and when to shoot.
4. Incredible variety of weapons to use and modify.
5. Replay Value--You can play this game 10 times and still enjoy it because every time it can be done differently.
6. It's loooooooooong. When I first played the game, I kept thinking: "OK. It's almost over...Right;-) The game just went on and went on. A real treat.
7. Bonus features. Once you earn enough money (play the game a couple of times), you can buy a Tommy Gun from the Merchant and go on a total 1920's Chicago stile rampage, just blowing everything to bits. SOOOOO much fun.
8. Side Games, Arcade Shooter, Mercenaries game mode. etc.
9. Enemies are varied and very cool (scary).

I can just go on and on.......but, you can read more reviews as well.

What wasn't perfect:
1. While the new interface is great for game play, it took me a while to get used to looking at the screen over Leon's shoulder.
2. Ashley (the other character that Leon has to protect) is whiny.
3. If you earned a bunch of money in the Normal mode and bought cool guns, you can't take them with you when playing the Pro setting for the first time.
4. I didn't care so much for the Giant Bosses type thing. The game can be just as tough with more enemies (not that there isn't enough of them) and more complicated battles.
