"Bill O'Reilly's Favorite Album of 2003" (The Plorentz Mix)

Pros:
Madonna goes RAWK: It works great on "Nothing Fails"

Cons:
Madonna goes RAP-RAWK: The new version of "American Life" is absolutely ridiculous

Edit. Edit. Edit. Edit. chewychewychewychewy [insert rock beat for organic "live-in-the-studio" band feel] I m just as shocked - Just as shocked- J-J-J-J-J-J-J-Just as shocked as you are. Talk about giving aid and- giving aid and comfort to the enemy. TRACK ONE: NOTHING FAILS (NEVINS MIX) It all feels like Madonna is locked in a tiny room with a machine that spits out - spits out - spits out random noises until something.- until something - until something - like the haunting choral interlude in the song "Nothing Fails" happens [delete haunting choral interlude] and the littleness, the...

  Wait, WHAT??

Pros:
She goes back to 80's rock sound!

Cons:
Lyrics in "Nothing Fails" sound computer-generated and pieced together.

Since Madonna released her Ray Of Light album, her (then) new style of dance/pop music made waves across the U.S. with it. I personally love it. Her voice adds to the song to give it emotion that can make listeners have a connection to the lyrics. Recently, her latest album entitled American Life was a mess of mixed controversy. While some critics thought the now middle-aged Madonna Ciccone had gone to her lowest, some applauded her outright opinions expressed through her lyrics. In the song American Life, she expressed how "I'm just living out the American dream" while the song Mother and...

Remixed and Revisited.. and You Can RAAWK! For Inspriation...

Pros:
a few gems like Love Profusion and Nobody Knows me

Cons:
a few lumps of coal like American Life and the Video Awards medley

Someone at the higher ups at Maverick or Warner think Madonna's American Life record needs a new lease on life at the end of the year. Enter Remixed and Revisited.. marketed as a collection of "retro and rock" reinterpretations of the American Life album. Instead of a clever remix ep, we have a mixed bag of interesting and downright boring reinterpretations. Nothing Fails, regarded by many as the best song off of American Life. Originally it was a gentle cyber ballad with an uplifting choir section. Here remixer Jason Nevins turns it into a blippy, dancier affair with distorted guitars...a...

Madonna remixes well, then revisits some other crap.
Review created: 11/25/03

Pros:
The remixing - Rocked out dance songs. Tr s inventive.

Cons:
The revisiting - Live stuff, rappers, and b-sides.

Now I'm not 100% positive, so don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure ever since there has been dance clubs, there has been Madonna remixes. Ever since You Can Dance, Madonna's been releasing dance crazy tracks on every disc. For example, was anybody getting their groove on to the Music cut of What It Feels Like For A Girl? Well, when it was made into a video, that all changed. And the Ray Of Light Ultra Hard Bright Mix was enough to convince me. So when Madonna: Remixed

  STRICTLY 4 FANS...

Pros:
Good remixes, the live performance, the GET INTO THE HOLLYWOOD GROOVE mix

Cons:
Made for the Hardcore fans(like moi), "Your Honesty" ain't so spectacular

Madonna's 2003 effort, American Life, has, for the most part, gotten a bad rap. So it might surprise some that she decided to release REMIXED AND REVISITED, which includes four remixes from the album. Nothing Fails(remix)- I like it. I prefer the original though, just because this is one of those songs that deserves to be listened to with a quiet feel and without a beat going along with it, if that makes any sense. Love Profusion(Headcleanr remix)-Great! It takes away the acoustic guitar of the original and replaces it with an electric guitar, giving it more of a rock sensibility. It...
