Reformed Doctrine of Predestination by Loraine Boettner (1990)

If you're a Christian then this is a great companion book to your Holy Bible. It helps explain a lot of the verses in the Holy Bible and it does it in an easy to understand way. I have been reading this book for awhile now and I would recommend it to every Christian who wants to have a better understanding of Biblical truth.

I bought this book because I read elsewhere that it was a great indepth treatment on Reformed Theology and the doctrines of God's sovereignty. It is definitely indepth and easy to follow with tons of biblical and theological evidence to support the five points of Calvinism. I highly enjoyed reading this book and I read it all the way through, which is hard for me to do without picking up something else. I believe I got alot out of the time invested in reading this book and it affirmed my belief system as a "Calvinist without reserve." Two things specifically I didn't like where the overemphasis on this being Calvin's system (The doctrines he dug up were in the Scriptures from the get go)God just used him to bring them to the surface. Another thing was that Jonathan Edwards name was not mentioned even once. I believe he was the greatest reformed theologian in American history and he as left out. Overall, its a great read for someone examining predestination for the first time or for the "seasoned Calvinist" looking to deepen his or her theology.
