it was as described the product came in timely fashion and i am very satisfied.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
After the first time I heard this CD i knew if Jay-z kept dishin' out lyrics like this he would retire as one of the best of all time and he's nothing short of that. One of my personal favorites I own ever CD he has ever released. As he has said "Can't no livin' person contest him. Only two rested in heaven can be mentioned in the same breath as him" and he's lived up to those worlds.
This is like having Jordan's rookie card, Jay's rookie album is a smooth mixture of slow moving beats with hardcore street rap. With Hova's out of retirement album coming out, Reasonalbe Doubt is a must have for any Jay-Z collection, if you don't got it, get it.

No Doubt: Jay-Z's Beginning

Pros: Advanced Lyricism, Somber Tracks
Cons: Guest Appearances, Too Many Disorganized Beats
Jay-Z. The individual mind of this hungry MC proved to the rap world what he was capable of on his debut and he showed us exactly how he wanted it done. As he rightfully said in one of his (many) swan songs Encore nobody can mirror him back however hard they try. The statement made on that track turned out to be true as nobody had dared come off with Jay-Z's style or wit. His battle skills were put to the test during the infamous battle with other leading KONY contender, Nas, though the latter won Jigga still gave it his all with merciless potshots of how he hasn't put out a good album since..

An excellent debut? That's Reasonable, Classic? I have Doubts

Pros: Tight flow, witty punchlines and charisma, handful of classic tracks. Tight production
Cons: The King-pin attitude, the early commercialism(Even before he was hot!)The ego, damn the ego!
I'm not really a fan of Brooklyn's Jay Z to be honest with you. His ego, his arrogance, the self-proclaimed "greatest rapper alive"(Yeah right). But I give credit where credit is due. He is the mastermind of hood classic "Hard Knock Life" which sampled the Annie theme song. And he did release the proclaimed classical Reasonable Doubt right? Well, I dont think it's a classic. But sure comes close. Tracklisting 1)Can't Knock The Hustle-$$$$$ 2)Politics As Usual-$$$$1/2 3)Brooklyn's Finest ft. Notorious B.I.G-$$$$$ 4)Dead Presidents II-$$$$$ 5)Feelin' It-$$$1/2 6)D'Evils-$$$$$ 7)Can I live-$$$$..

The best Jay-Z you've probably never heard.

Pros: Good beats and lyrics. Great flow and delivery.
Cons: none
With all the Jay-Z fans in the world today, it's very surprising that most of them haven't heard his first and best CD. The problem with this CD is that it doesn't really have any commercial appeal, and wasn't marketed very well. A lot of people (including me) have passed this album up because of the fact that it got almost no radio play, and MTV didn't play any of his videos. But just because it wasn't in heavy rotation, doesn't have anything to do with the quality of it. In my opinion, it is Jay-Z's finest effort. This albums two strongest points are its lyrics and production. Almost all of.

This is What Hip Hop is All About
Review created: 06/15/02

Pros: Hot Lyrics, Tight Beats, Nice Flows,
Cons: Some Mediocre Tracks
One of the most forgettable hip hop albums that Jay-Z made is also one of the best albums ever made. Jay-Z has worked hard combining Beautiful Beats, Amazing Lyrics, and Jazzy Tunes to make Reasonable Doubt. The Album starts out with Pain in da A** Using some quotes from the movie "Scarface" and talking about cocaine, and how to sell it and make money after a weird introduction, "Can't Knock the Hustle" begins. On "Can't Knock the Hustle" we are introduced by a beautiful voice done by none other than Mary J Blige, Jay-Z spits out his lyrics perfectly on the verses while Mary J Blige handles...
