We lost a great man, entertainer, and American this year. A movie about his life just recently opened by the name of "Ray" to some excellent reviews. Ray Charles was a consultant on the movie and it's a shame he didn't live to see it but at the same time he did understand his great contribution to American music and his worldwide influences. Of that I am pleased. One thing that I have been aware of in listening to Ray Charles perform any song is that he brings the words alive. He just has his special way of singing that does that. In this album, in particular, Ray uses words to tell a story...
