Rainbow Technologies D-4SE Bagless Vacuum

I am new to eBay and actually started on a whim to see if I could find a part for my son's vacuum cleaner. I ended up buying 3 complete vacumm cleaners and parts for several more. I got hooked. I knew exactly what I was buying as I have owned a rainbow (the same one) for more than 20 years and it is still going strong. I don't really need the 3 I bought, but hope to sell them locally, so I can hopefully buy more on eBay to sell in the future. That would be a fun business, and I'm not afraid to buy an older model as they all work great and will last forever if taken care of properly. I am what you would call a Rainbow Groupie - I love Rainbow, wouldn't clean with anything else and think that all other vacuum cleaners fall into the category of either "dust bunny" or "boat anchor". I can walk into someone else's home and tell whether or not they have a Rainbow. I don't even want to be in the same room with another brand running, because of the filth and horrible smell they give off. We have allergies and nothing else cleans and removes allergens as well as a Rainbow. I purchased my D4 SE 21 years ago soon after my older son was diagnosed and saw an instant difference in his symptoms. He now has his own Rainbow - a D3 that I bought at an auction and gave him when he went to college 14 years ago. It is also still going strong. The D-3 actually has more airflow than the newer models because the motor is open. You just have to be careful not to tip it and get water in the motor. From D-4 on, the motors have been sealed. I have seen Chrome domes that also clean beautifully when 50+ years old. No other cleaner can claim this. One of my recent purchases will go with my younger son when he moves out of our house. Also we have a 110 pound Rottweiller that sheds with each step she takes, but having a Rainbow makes it possible to have pets and still have a clean, fur free home.
I am pleased with purchasing on eBay that I have gotten exactly what was advertized in these vacuum cleaners. I was amazed to see the prices that the D-3 and D-4's are selling for. They have retained 30-50% of their original value overall. I will at some point probably buy a new one (probably on eBay), but for a machine to run 20-30 years and still work like it did when new is amazing to me. I guess that's why they used to call them the "Amazing Rainbow". They definitely the best in operation, and in value when bought used on eBay. It's one of those instances where "you get what you pay for".

THE SEPARATOR WAS DIRTY-LOOKS LIKE NEWER BEEN CLEANED.
BELOW THE SEPARATOR I REMOVED ABOUT 1/2 OZ OF WET DUST.
HOSES AND PIPES WAS VERY DIRTY.
I SPEND MORE THAN 3 HOURS TO CLEAN THIS VACUUM.
I'M NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH THIS TRANSACTION.
IF YOU LOOKING FOR GOOD USED RAINBOW BUY FORM DIFERENT EBAYER OR STORE.
FINALY I LIKE THIS PRODUCT AND RECOMMEND FOR OTHERS.

We got the vacuum in less then a week. We was very please with that.
It was in grate shape. Works very well. I would not hesitant buy any thing from her.Very please

Great Vaccum. I have used several high dollar vaccums but Rainbow is by far the best. The dust etc. you sweep up is deposited in water instead of a bag which cuts down on dust particals being returned into your air.It can even clean the air you breath just by simply turning it on and letting it run in a room.If you dont mind filling a water tank and emptying it each time you sweep then this is the vaccum for you. The only way this product could get any better is if it swept the floors by itself.

This is our second SE. We used the last one to death over the last 18 years. I know that it would hav elasted longer if we had just put a little effort into its maintenance...even still it worked great until the day the motor died.

This second one is approximately the same age, and runs great! I love that there is no dust plume when we turn it on. It cleans like there is no tomorrow and we never have to replace the bag...because there is none.

With wet/dry capabilities, our Rainbow has saved our bacon many times. Having four kids, spills are a "normal" occurence. Our Rainbow takes them all in stride.

i have used this vacuum everyday that i have received it ....we have 4 pugs and of course we need all the help we can get so the rainbow was a dream come true...i have always wanted one and this time i was able to get a good price for it and with it fresh air.........love it

It traps the dust and dirt in water. We had one many years ago when I was a child. It was a great buy, the price was many dollars less than if I purchased it new.

I have owened a rainbow vacuum for 30 years so I wanted an other one I really like them. I am pleased with this one I knew it was not new, with my bugdet I can't aford a new one. That is why I bought this oneIt works very well So I am not disapointed with it.mI was a fair price.

This is simple. One, the Rainbow vacuum cleaner is made to last 30+ years! They last longer. One of the best air cleaning products around (Since the 20's) Remember, you get what you pay for (If your lucky!!)

I have had my rainbow vacuum cleaner for 20 years or more.
They were very popular back then, and there were door to door salesmen.
Now finding parts is somewhat challenging. I dropped the old wate basin and immediately went to e-bay to see if I could find a replacement.
I had ordered and paid for this part within minutes, and received the water basin within a week.
Very pleased with the service and convenience.

Love the rainbow vacuum, it is the best vacuum going, wet dust can't fly, we are building a new home and it is great for the construction cleanup

I truly believe in Rainbow vaccum sweepers since I have owned them for 30 years. I shopped on Ebay because of the price as a new one is $2300.
The pictures looked good on the web site and the sweeper was packaged nice when I received it. It has been working great. The attachments are in good shape and I'm glad to have purchased it.

My first purchase of a Rainbow vacuum cleaner was in the 1980's. I recently purchased not one, but four units. The Rainbow vacuum is designed to last! Every part is replaceable, or repairable. That makes it a product that will last a lifetime. Versatility, is the second reason for my satisfaction with this product. I can clean my house, from floors, to ceiling, then move outside to clean my vehicle, all with the basic tools that come with this vacuum. Water filtration is another selling point for me. No messy bags to change, just pour out the contents of the basin. Dust and other foreign matter is safely collected and removed, not just blown around only to end up back in your house. You can remove the hose and let the vacuum clean the air in your house, ridding your house of cooking odors, dust, germs, and other airborne matter. The unit is compact, and can be stored in a small area, unlike those bulky upright units that take up too much storage space.

I don't like to vacuum. This vacuum can be gawkey(sp?). You have to empty the water immediately after vacuuming because it can ruin the motor. But the good outweighs the bad. I love the Rainbow vacs but I can't afford a new one. We have a lot of allergies and it really keeps down dust. You don't have cups to empty with dust and dirt in them, you don't have bags to fool with. I love the fact that this vacuum really gets the dirt, dust, tidbits, pet hair, etc. out of the floor and the dust mites drown. It is a bit noisy but I have heard a lot worse. I was thrilled that this vacuum was available for such a lot price. It came with the accessories that I needed. I deeply appreciate ebay and the sellers that are reasonable in providing bargains for the public. I decided to buy it because I know the quality of the rainbows and I need to get rid of dust. We have a wood stove that we heat with and it is a mess. I have tried several other vacs and they just don't do the work. This one does a bit of everything. Those others have dirty bags that cause me to sneeze when I empty them. So I guess you could say that I purchased this for health reasons, the cheap price, and the quality of the product. I liked the fact it was new as was described. price was much cheaper than in a store. i bought it because my old one broke and without it i could not sweep my floor. the fit just like the one that came with the sweeper.

I liked the description and that it showed others asking questions and the sellers answers, so I didn't have to ask.

The posting should of had "stock photo" listed as the seller had a different machine that was sold.

This is my third Rainbow that I have owned and am very pleased with this one for the cost.

The Rainbow was clean and just as advertised. Shipment was received promptly.

I purchased m first Rainbow 30 years ago. With 3 kids, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 1 husband it lasted for almost 25 years. I decided at that time to invest in a new Rainbow even though the old one worked fine. I can't praise Rainbow enough. The power of the sweeper never diminishes no matter what. Easy to use and best of all no smelly sweeper bags staying in the sweeper from week to week. No old dust to recirculate week after week. Its amazing to see how much you pick up. Gives me the incentive to clean more often. Well worth the price.

I have had a Rainbow vacuum for over 12 years now and I must say that the high price you pay is worth every cent. If I had used my head, I would not even have had to replace the hose. Rainbow works without bags but instead with water. Each vacuum you must dispose of the water, which I do outside since I have a beagle dog inside the house that sheds. I find many bird nests around here with soft fluff from our little beagle no doubt. But I think a lot of folks don't like the bother but to me it's part of a clean house. I also vacuum every third day being there is a dog inside plus I have a house that is over 3000 sq feet! So you get the idea that I like to use a vacuum! It has unbelieveable suction even after all the use and it goes from bare floors to carpet with a simple replacement hose. I love the hoses that change out from upholstery to one that will actually suck up water! So for any job, I love the Rainbow, hands down.

We have two. I have one I bought new here in Florida, and I over paid for it. I paid $1899.00. It is a great vacuum and does everything it should, but over priced. We purchased antoher one for our second home, and paid only $450.00 on Ebay, and guess what it works just as well. So I would recomend the Rainbow to everyone, but I would recomend you buy it on Ebay. They are very well built vacuums so if it works there is nothing to be worried about. This is an item that would be benifical to many retires with breathing problems, however Rexair has it so over priced no one who truly needs it will be able to afford it. The Rainmate is also a wondeful thing too.

I have never loved a vacuum until I purchased a Rainbow on ebay, I love this machine.. what can't it do ! Nothing! I did not believe a machine could do what it says this one does. It is a floor sweeper a vacuum cleaner a air cleaner a carpet washer, a window washer with the sqeegie attachment, a pet massager, this machine is awsome.

we like this vacuum because there is no dust or bags to change very little maintenance and very easy to change belt when needed. we bought this since we have one on 1st floor and purchases for 2nd floor we were tired of moving upstairs. the price was right since it was refurbished. we were very happy with this. just like new without the price.
