Raiders of the lost ark. This was the first movie released in the popular Indiana Jones movies. In most eyes this is still the best as well. Great story.

This is AWESOME! Harrison Ford plays Indiana Jones, an archeologist who hunts for some interesting objects indeed. This time, Indy looks for the Ark of the Covenant, before Nazi's find it. This is a movie NOT TO BE MISSED!

Archaeologist Vs Nazi: The race for the power of God

Pros:
That Score!!!!

Cons:
You questioning me?

Raiders Of The Lost Ark was Steven Spielberg's homage to every Saturday matinee serial you have ever seen. It has action, adventure and Nazis (a common villain in the serials he was aping, mainly for the costumes and accents they offered.) It sees an intrepid archaeologist named Indiana Jones going on a fantastic adventure to discover the lost Ark Of The Covenant before the Nazis can find it and take over the world with the power of God. That one simple sentence is all that is needed to summarize the plot of Raiders Of The Lost Ark (maybe with one more sentence if I want to go from start to...

Raiders of the Lost Ark -- One Truly Great Movie
Review created: 01/27/05

Pros:
Ford, strong writing and dialogue, quick paced plot and innovative action sequences

Cons:
none

Fresh out of becoming a household name as Han Solo in Star Wars, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas cast Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. This was all despite the fact that everyone involved wanted Tom Selleck to take on the part of the hero. Jones is an archeologist who doesn't do everything necessarily by the book. He is a rough cut man, who knows that with every excavation and discovery that danger can lurk behind every corner, and he is ready for it. Rather than falling into the role of the normal book-smart archeologist, Jones instead has fun with everything he does, and puts himself into..

Who would have thought archeology could be such fun?

Pros:
Fast, furious, and FUN, all the cast, especially Ford and Rhys-Davies

Cons:
Nothing unless you're really picky (apart from some parts being scary for young children)

For my 100th film review on epinions I thought I d review a classic, and not only a classic but one I ve recently had the pleasure of seeing again at the cinema thanks to the Diet Coke Film Fest. (I won tickets and then had to drive back from Cornwall at 5:30am a 5-hour straight drive to get back to Birmingham so I could get to the showing I'd booked! (They were only showing it once and the holiday in Cornwall was rather unexpected ) It was voted as one of the nation's top ten favourite films though not all of the films that made it into the top ten were exactly classics I mean, "Love...

"If adventure has a name, it's Indiana Jones...."

Pros:
Fantastic screenplay, great score, and an appealing central character.

Cons:
None.

"Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of the most deliriously funny, ingenious and stylish American movies ever made!" -- Vincent Canby, The New York Times "If adventure has a name, it's Indiana Jones." -- tag line for Raiders of the Lost Ark In the early summer of 1977, while directors Steven Spielberg and George Lucas were vacationing in Hawaii shortly after Lucas's "little sci-fi movie" premiered, a beachside conversation turned to the topic of upcoming projects the two friends had on their agendas. Lucas was exhausted from the arduous making of Star Wars, and Spielberg was finishing post...

Pros:
Loopy sense of fun. Harrison Ford and Karen Allen's interplay.

Cons:
Sometimes the homage to cliche becomes the cliche.

I'm absolutely shocked, I tell you, shocked at the turn of events in my life over the last day. Everything started out so ordinary this morning. I was in my palatial bathroom, the one with the ormulu fixtures and the cascading waterfall into the tub, dealing with my morning toilette. I had just finished with the lavabo when there was a noise in the bathtub. I flung aside the shower curtain I picked up at Dennis Koszlowski's recent garage sale and there stood Norman. Rather there stood Norman's shade, I suppose I should say, as he was quite transparent. The toothpaste then immediately hurled...
