This book was a required reading for a class but I found it to be so much more. This book is very informative and I know things now that I had no clue of before I read the book. I recommend this book to many people especially if you are in college and you are dealing with different racial and ethnic groups, it's really a good way to find out where certain groups have been and what they have had to endure while coming to the USA.

It's pretty good in that it seems to describe the situation of all kinds of minorities well. However, I didn't like that it seemed to lean to the side of making the wrong things that people do seem right, like the idea that having two men as parents makes a stable family. Call me biased, but I totally disagree. I'm sure they're trying to show each minority group in the best light possible, and that's commendable.

The book is interesting. Our class only used the chapters on Africans Americans, Native Americans and Mexican Americans. The chapters were short and got to the point. The book does not go into great detail but it does lead you in the right direction for research of the subject.

This book gives tons of details and inside info of racial, religious and ethnic group in the USA (as well as some info for countries beyond USA) with somewhat fair and in-depth info.
