Pros: A Brilliant Masterpiece from Prince, one of the greatest artists in Black Music.
Cons: None baby!
Dearly Beloved, We are gathered here today to celebrate Black History Month in this amazing Write-Off hosted by the vivacious diva herself Cletta1201 and the King of Hip-Hop in Epinions.com, Madtheory. The Black History Month W/O is a write-off to celebrate African-American culture through several medias in Epinions.com whether it s a review on music, movies, books, whatever, or you can make poetry on the joy of African-American culture. To celebrate Black History Month, I decided to do a review on one of the greatest albums of the 1980s created by one of the most uncompromising and brilliant.

Pros: Exceptionally jovial, and emotional all at once.
Cons: Either you like Prince, or you loathe him.
Whoa, EricaAnn you like Prince? Is the response I get majority of the time I roll up playing this. It seems to others to be totally out of character for me. Ok, I admit it I love Prince. Always have, always will. I have stood by his music even with the hey look at me I'm a symbol..then hey look at me I'm Prince again. Wishy washy he may be but I am not about him. 1984 The Prince before all the symbols started. When his creativity and Purple Passion ruled his music. His high heels kicked into a frenzy on songs that just demanded to be heard. I personally prefer Prince when he's being downright.

Pros: The most perfect pop soundtrack for a film ever recorded...
Cons: ...except for one song
Rhythm - a powerful force bending sound into palpable pressure 1985, most weeknights, 1 AM Ok, time to close! I probably said this phrase several hundred times over the course of my career at Taco Bell, and in many of these instances, that phrase was quickly followed by another, far more exciting declaration blaring from a boom box in the back of the store...dearly beloved, we are gathered here 2day 2 get 2 this thing called life. All of us raised our voices in unison as we began the tedious process of cleansing each night s messes from our business and chasing gathered tensions from our own.

Baby, I'm A Star: Prince Hits The Big Time With Purple Rain

Pros: High quality and inventive pop/rock/funk with personal character and musical complexity.
Cons: A couple of songs are great while the album's on, but don't stick afterwards.
Well, this is the biggie. While Prince s 1982 album "1999" had introduced him to mainstream audiences with crossover hits like the title track and Little Red Corvette , 1984 s Purple Rain was the release that made him a superstar. Its eighth track Baby I m A Star couldn t have been any more predictive the image of Prince with his purple suit and Harley is up there with Thriller-zombie Michael Jackson and Boy-Toy-wedding-dress Madonna as far as defining eighties iconography goes. But while fashions have changed, Purple Rain is still a great record. Gone are "1999"'s extended dance jams,...
