Popeye the Sailor 1933-1938 - Volume One (2007, DVD)

I didn't watch very much because it's a bootleg on memorex discs and when I sent it back to the seller who authorized it's return it came back in the mail with no such # for the address he had on file with e-bay. Before it came back he became a non-registered user yet paypal supports his cause and founded the case in his favor! I guess in todays world as a criminal and abuser of your fellow man you get rewarded, whereas honesty doesn't count! All corporations abuse rather than support people and e-bay and pay pal seem to be no exception. I have no interest in buying anymore.

I purchased this as a gift for my father as he was 9 years old when the cartoons started, and being that he was a WWII sailor/marine- 2nd Batt./28th Rgt. 5th MARINE division corpsman and I was a cold war sailor we could relate to the cartoons. The humor is timeless and in good taste.

The video quality is excellent. The package seems very complete with the cartoons in chronological order. There are loads of informative extras. This DVD set is the gold standard of POPEYE, cartoon nostalgia.

The disclaimer about violence, racism, sexism, smoking etc. is a bit ridiculous. Come on! These are cartoons. I'm just glad they didn't censor any of them.
