Pros: excellent songwriting; awesome backup musicians; great singing; sometimes funny; sometimes poignant
Cons: none
Note: This is an updated version of my review of Lyle Lovett's "Pontiac," which I still consider to be his best album. Known to some as the musician who was married for awhile to actress Julia Roberts, Lyle Lovett is one of today's best singer-songwriters. Pros: Flawless
Cons: none

Our journey into the Pontiac starts with If I had a Boat. I love this song. It conjures up emotions of a young child and later a man, almost effortlessly. Give Back my Heart is a fun song made for...

"Pontiac" by Lyle Lovett pure and simple

Pros: Classic Lyle, great songwriting
Cons: Nada - great album
Lyle Lovett's "Pontiac" is a sampler that introduces the listener to Lyle with a few quick "bytes" that are sure to please! The album begins with "If I had a Boat" - always a classic in concert and one of Lyle's signature songs to audiences that don't know him too well. "I Loved You Yesterday" is a real country song - for me, who is not a real country fan, I can enjoy the song wedged between others, but it's a very real song that we all can relate to. The album takes a turn midway when he goes into "She's No Lady" and "M-O-N-E-Y" - belting out his tunes with his always exceptional bandmates...
