Pokemon Ruby Version (Game Boy Advance)

I, by no means whatsoever, like Pokemon.
I do however, LOVE this game. It was a gift for my 4 year old daughter, and like most of her games, I played it myself.

This is the only Pokemon game I have played, so I cannot compare it to others. (I know I'll be getting the others as well).
I have read about (Pokemon) different games, however, and can say that this one has had a facelift from the others. It has updated graphics and weather effects, better sound, and 200 different Pokemon with 100 new species.
Like the others, you can choose to be a boy or girl and choose your name. It has an internal clock, so it records your playtime, and you have a Pokedex to keep track of your stats.
You main goal is to beat all the Gym Trainers and become a Pokemon Master. What my child and I find appealing about this game, is that there are three seperate "starter" Pokemon to choose from. You can complete the game in it's entirity (which has taken me 25 hours of seperate playtime as according to the internal clock per character...but, I "play around" and often rematch characters and play in the arcade there, and etc.), and then you can start again with a different Pokemon with completely different fighting tactics and abilities.

My favorite thing about this game? Press "save" at any time; there are no passwords to remember, and you can shut it off, and return later to where you left off.

In this one, you can now have 2 pokemon fighting on your side at the same time; you can tag team them against an enemy. Also in this one (which I read is different from others), is that the berries you collect, you can go and blend them together in a Berry Blender and make a "super smoothie" to feed your Pokemon. It will keep them amped, and also enhance their best advantages if you choose to "show" them in the regional contests (can get ribbons for "Best of Show" which will unlock additional contests.)

And lastly, it is a multiplayer game, if you want it to be. (Meaning, it is also single player..but, ) You can trade Pokemon with another player (with a link cable, of course), and can even have battles with up to 4 different friends (with link cables.)

I still cannot find the Pokemon cartoons or collector items appealing, but, my child and I do enjoy the games. Young gamers can enjoy it (it is esy enough for them to get the hang of), but, I'm sure even adults would have fun with this game. Pokemon fan or not.

My grandson age 13 likes to catch the Pokemon. He likes to train them and battle people. The graphics are excellent. I bought this item brand new in the wrapper.
It cost more than the used ones, but I think it is worth the extra expense. Shipping was super fast and packing was excellent. It is a nice family oriented game.

The game was shipped quickly and the game arrived in good order. It has been working fine for over a month now.

I ordered this product and when it arrived the outside casing was the right game but the cartridge actually played a different game.

This game is one in a series that are just great games for pokemon fans. They are playable on the new DS system, and provide hours of game time. Just be sure you have a legitimate copy. The games with the picture of Groudon on them will play on a DS in the GBA slot, but you won't be able to migrate pokemon to Pearl/ Diamond nor will it generate the random encounters on Pearl/ Diamond like it should. I mention this because I have seen multiple copies that do this, and I believe them to be pirated imitations.

I love Pokemon and if you love Pokemon then you will love this game as well. The game is great. It has good graphics for a GBA game and its fun to play it on the DS.

Ruby is a quality pokemon product. Gameplay is predictable and is basically the same as all other pokemon carts. But there is renewed interest in this game (along with all other Pokemon advances games) as it is necessary in order to "catch 'em all" in newer DS games. You can "migrate" your caught advance pokemon onto your Pearl and Diamond DS carts.

My son likes the fact that you find more Pokemon than just trainers. He also says that being able to store the Pokemon in a computer on the game makes it more fun to play. he dislikes that you cannot jump. Overall my 9 yr old has really enjoyed this purchase.

This game is great and has a lot of replay value! It still has most of the original Pokemon and many many new ones!!

A friend has this game and it is fun to play. The game we received did not work properly and does not save.

Wonderful, my son have been enjoyed to play everyday. There is great deal! Nothing problem so far. He enjoying lots and being exciting to have that game Ruby Version GBA. Doesnt complaint at all. Happy all the way for our spirit!!!

Yet another in the seemingly endless series of Pokemon games.

My favorite Pokemon is Charizard so you get to battle with him ( and others ) in this one.

Subsequent games had much better graphics but it is still fun to play this one.

Pokemon Ruby is a well planned game, and has some of the best pokemon. The Pokemon games are unique. You can trade and battle with you friends.

My son wanted it for his birthday and I couldn't find it anywhere else. He has been very pleased with the game.
