From producer Jerry Bruckheimer (PEARL HARBOR) comes PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL, the thrilling high-seas adventure with a mysterious twist. The roguish yet charming Captain Jack Sparrow's (Academy Award(R) Nominee Johnny Depp) idyllic pirate life capsizes after his nemesis, the wily Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), steals his ship, the Black Pearl, and later attacks the town of Port Royal, kidnapping the governor's beautiful daughter Elizabeth (Keira Knightley). In a gallant attempt to rescue her and recapture the Black Pearl, Elizabeth's childhood friend Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) joins forces with Jack. What Will doesn't know is that a cursed treasure has doomed Barbossa and his crew to live forever as the undead. Rich in suspense-filled adventure, sword-clashing action, mystery, humor, unforgettable characters, and never-before-seen special effects, PIRATES is a must-have epic on the grandest scale ever.

Pros:
Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom..pirates!

Cons:
nada zip zilch

Yeah. I know. We need another review of this movie like we need that insidious bottom line. Tough. I loved Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl and can hold back writing a review no longer. This one will absolutely end up on my best of 2003 list when it comes time to write that. Tis about a treasure, ye see...and pirates, and a maiden who needs rescued. Jack Sparrow is a bumbling fool of a pirate who used to captain the Black Pearl (the most dreaded pirate ship to ever sail the seas). The ship got hi-jacked by his first mate (damned pirates! Just can't trust em!) and then became.

Pros:
fabulous cast; fun action adventure movie

Cons:
?? the story has been done many times before ??

While I selected "reveals major details about the movie's plot" I don't think I say anything you don't catch from the previews; and even if I do - well there is nothing new to the story here. Wednesday hubby asked me if I wanted to see Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. I told him no, not really as I had little to no desire to see it. It looked like it could be seriously cheesy to me. So hubby made plans to see it that evening with his friends. Their plans fell through and he was disappointed yet knew he'd catch it in theaters soon enough. Today hubby asks me if I want to.

Pirates of the Caribbean: But why is the rum gone?!

Pros:
jaw-droppingly good

Cons:
may not have the same appeal to all

I confess, despite the ridicule of my family and friends and the scorn of my own intellectualism, I am an Orlando Bloom shipper at heart. But I went to see this movie mostly because of the terrific action and adventure it promised, and I certainly got that and much more! There has been a shortage of great, classic adventure movies lately, and Pirates of the Caribbean definitely falls in this category. It was far better than even I had anticipated, and while not everyone may enjoy it as enthusiastically as I did, I can safely promise that no one will be bored. The title for Pirates of the...

  Madness AND Brilliance

Pros:
Aye! There be many.

Cons:
Shiver me timbers, very few.

Avast me hearties! It's time to weigh anchor and hoist the Jolly Roger, cast off and sail the Seven Seas, plundering and looting for dubloons. We'll... What?... "Why," ye ask? Ye don't know what today is? Why ye'll be walking the plank and going to visit Davey Jones' locker with that sort of attitude, you land lubber! It be Talk Like A Pirate Day, when everyone gives in to their secret desires to live a life of real adventure on the high seas. Arrrr, it's good to be a pirate. Now grab yer eye patch and the closest parrot, sit back with a mug of grog and yer favourite wench or cabin boy for we.

Pros:
Johnny Depp. Very entertaining movie.

Cons:
None for me

I first saw a poster for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl when I went to see Finding Nemo. Not long after that, I started to see previews for the movie and I decided that I wanted to see it. I ve seen some other pirate movies, like Treasure Planet, that I enjoyed. I've also read some books dealing with pirates that I found fascinating. I heard more about the movie, and that just made me want to see it even more. I was really looking forward to seeing it. I had high expectations for the movie, and I wasn't disappointed at all. I'm already planning to see it again and I...
