Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006, DVD)

I think the word 'wow' pretty much sums up this movie. It was excellent! It definitely meets the standards set by the first movie.

This movie starts off on Will Turner's and Elizabeth Swann's wedding day, but the wedding is cancelled because of warrants for Will's and Elizabeth's arrests for helping Captain Jack Sparrow escape. Will is allowed to go out looking for Jack Sparrow to retrieve something from him (his compass) in exchange for his and Elizabeth's freedom. Will obviously runs into problems once he finds Jack. We find out that Jack has a debt to pay to Davy Jones, which he sends Will to settle for him and to find the key to the Dead Man's Chest which contains the heart of Davy Jones, the reason Will goes along with it is because Jack promises to give him his compass in return for finding the key. Once Davy's heart has been stabbed he is killed and all people (in this case mostly dead people) are freed from their debts to him. That is the shortened version, but there is still a lot more to this film. There are a great deal of hilarious parts in this movie as well, it will definitely keep you laughing.

The only bad part of this movie is that it ends with a cliffhanger. But it is very very entertaining.

If you are a fan of the first movie, or of Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom then you will love this movie!

Great fun. Have watched it many times and will again and again. Great lines we use often, too! Definitely had to own it.

My son loves the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. We rented them on Netflix but they were so great that we wanted to watch them over and over. What a great series for older kids and adults!

one of the best pirate action packed movies I have seen in years. I loved this becase it just like having a box set of a tv show or something you know. Jack Sparrow is having a bit of a problem with his det with cursed old Davey's deal that he made ages ago. It also hadJack Sparrow dies and in the third one he comes back from beyond the grave. I've seen the Robbin's family movie and that's the only one I saw in recent years and Dead Man's chest is far better then the Robbinson Family where they are trapped on an island. If I were and looking for a very cool move buy all three you'll be surprised on what I mean.

Between the look of Davy Jones and the hard to understand accent of Tia Dalma, I am not sure how much I liked this 2nd installment. I loved the first pirates. I have been watching this one with closed captions. It is good that way. There are some great action scenes, but the crew of Davy Jones' ship is awfully hard to look at. Bugs on their faces, ewww!

Love the movie great adventurous, Love Jhonny Depp and Orlando Bloom. My son and I loves watching this movie is great for a late night weekend, family style popcorn and munchies. Makes a great Movie night a Movie night..

I had 1 and 3 of the series, and now have all 3. Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom are both fantastic actors, and the story line was great. Lots of action and special effects. Great movie for anyone who likes pirates and fantasy.

My daughter is crazy about Johnny Depp. SO I try to get the movies to add to her collection. It arrived in a timely fashion and I am grateful for that. It made it here in time for the sleepover.. lol.. Thanks

It took a while to get, but the movie plays well. It was my purchase on ebay so I was a little nervous, but every thing worked out fine

Purchased to complete set of movies. Movies themselves are adequate but somewhat silly. Story is interesting but is to cartoonish for my taste. the main reason for buying/viewing is Johnny Depp.

Got the dvd in good condition. it was a great price on this movie, and the shipping was fast. will do more business in the future.

Please leave the kids at home.....some of these characters are just too intense for the little ones. The Black Pearl was very interesting due to excellent acting and interesting story line. This movie relies too much on what seems to be hours and hours of computer animation graphics with a weak story line.

as stated new bought this for my daughters to complete the 3 dvd set they love it and watch it constantly. I was a J depp fan as a child but, I am tired of watching theses at least the kids love it.

Bought it because I liked the first one so much. First one is still my favorite, but this one is entertaining.

great direction and theme combinations, a bit more intense than the first. multiple plot, wardrobe and make-up were good also. is left as the middle atleast, an open-ended but not ending. one could say it could go either way.

i think this movie was just excellent, i remember when mt grand kids, came from the movies. they just loved this movie.all the kids and adults always would ask me when they come over did i have pirates of the caribbean: dead man's chest.i really give this movie a five star rating for kids and adults.

Not the best of the three Pirates movies, but certainly will keep your attention and will not disappoint. Full of surprises.

Great movie. Captain Jack is back. Action with a comedic twist. Not for small children or young teens, but, I Highly recommend to adult and older teens.

I love this movie and all the other Pirates of the Caribbean movies, I had all the other movies and so I decided to buy this one as well. I also brought one for a Christmas present for someone else and they loved it!

I received the item quickly. This was a birthday present for my husband and we absolutely love this movie series.
