Very good movie to watch with kids. Good story, no nudity or violence. Good acting by all characters.

This was a great story - Krya added so much too this story. She is the only person I have ever seen give some one a hair cut and shave - and make it very sensual. Highly recommend - have watched it three times so far.

'Flowers For Algernon' For The Nineties, Or 'Charly' Revisited. Phenomenon.

Pros:
Travolta. When it moves away from its plot.

Cons:
Turteltaub.

If you were trying to get me to go to a movie you were going to make, signing on John Travolta and Jon Turteltaub would not start you off in the most positive of positions. I am at best undecided and bewildered by John Travolta who seems to be about the least interested person there is as regards his own career. His general scheme seems to be that he'll jump at any bone thrown in his direction, and this despite the fact that he is no stranger to career crashes. In the mid-80s you wouldn't have been surprised if you never saw him again. You would think that might mean that he would be really...

Be Prepared to Cry When You Watch Phenomenon

Pros:
One of the best tear-jerkers ever; excellent acting; great plot

Cons:
Sad ending

Every once in a while I see a movie that so totally grips my heart that it leaves me with tears streaming down my face. Phenomenon is one of these movies, and I can tell you the impact this movie had on me will last a long, long time. My significant other was amazed when I told him I had never seen this movie. He had it on tape, so we sat down to watch it yesterday afternoon. He said it was one of his all-time favorite movies, which told me immediately it would be a good one. Phenomenon stars an impressive cast; John Travolta, Kyra Sedgewick, Robert Duvall, and Forest Whitaker. It is the...

Pros:
very touching and thought provoking

Cons:
the pace is a little slow at times

My wife came into the bathroom the other day and found me upon the Porcelain Seat of Contemplation and Reflection with a Portugese-English dictionary. This didn't phase her; she's long been accustomed to my eccentricities. She did want to know, however, why I had installed solar panels on the bathtub and a manure-power contraption to my electric toothbrush. Maybe I DO get just a little over-enthusiastic at times...I dunno. My apologies to Eric Clapton for borrowing the opening line to his song "Change the World" (one of my favorite songs) for the title of this review. The song is used in the..

Pros:
Characters you will like, an interesting story, good acting, good musical score

Cons:
Premise must be treated as fantasy, sad ending

George Malley is a thirty-seven-year-old single man living in the small California town where he grew up. He runs the local auto mechanic shop, can fix anything related to cars, tries to be a great small farmer, loves his dog, and is known by, and liked by, everyone in town. For his thirty-seventh birthday, there is a big party at the small club in town, and everyone is there. Around midnight, George steps outside, to see one of his friends off, and to get a breath of fresh air. And something happens. With no one around, George sees a bright light in the sky, there is a loud noise, and George.
