Pros:
Lovingly adapted and one of the best reditions of Austen's last novel.
Cons:
If you're looking for suspense or adventure, do try something else.
Today, to mark the passing of the English author Jane Austen, who passed away on 18 July 1817, I've settled down to write a review of her last and posthumous novel, Persuasion. Considered by some to be her best work, it's a tale of class snobbery, love denied and regained, and some biting wit. Produced by a joint effort of the BBC and Mobil Masterpiece Theatre, it presents a fine collection of English actors, location shoots in England, and some terrific recreations of life in the Regency period. For Anglophiles and lovers of literature, this one is a treat. Portraying the various characters..
