Perfect Dark (Nintendo 64)

This game was made by the same company that made the infamous Golden Eye 64, a game which is hailed as giving new life to the first person shooter genre, and the first successful attempt at making a good 3d first person shooter.

This game expands on the golden eye formula using the same engine, and control system, so if anything perfect dark feels alot like golden eye 2.

The story is rather interesting, if not a bit cliche at times, but hey you're not playing this game just for a story right?

Lets get into the fun part of the game. The weaponry and gadgets. There are plenty of great weapons and gadgets, but one of the more famous tools in the game is the laptop gun. From the outside it looks like a typical laptop, but the secret it holds is that its a machine gun that you can use in your hand, or deploy as an automated turret that'll take out anyone that is unfortunate to walk by.

The multiplayer is alot of fun, and if you liked playing goldeneye's multiplayer, this game is definitely for you. It borrows very heavily from golden eye, and expands on it with new types of weapons, game modes, and environments. The one part that I have found to be annoying is when you take alot of damage, your vision goes very blurry, and distorted, but only for a few seconds.

If you have an n64, and don't have this game, I highly recomend it, it is well made, and gives you alot of options as far as things to do. The story mode is fun, the multiplayer rocks. Definitely grab this if you're even the slightest bit interested.

Love Love Love LOVE the game!!!!! A friend used to have the game when I was younger and we would play it all the time! It's just as I remember it. Great solo missions as well as big levels. I can even play the game without any friends due to the challenging game simulants. Now my friends and I play the game very often now. Overall 10/10. Excellent game and an awesome classic as well!!!!

I have played Perfect Dark before, and it is definitely an excellent game. It borrows from Goldeneye's success and makes a good thing better. The multiplayer is simply excellent.
However, this game is limited by the fact that it essentially requires the 4MB RAM expansion pack to function. Without it, you are limited to a handful of small arenas in multiplayer only.
Also, I could have sworn that the game came with save RAM in the cartridge, but the cart I received didn't have any. Strange.

This is still one of the most entertaining games I have ever played.1st class 1st person shooter.I dragged my N64 out for the sole purpose of playing this game

If you liked Goldeneye then you will ADORE Perfect Dark. It is the unofficial sequel to Bond made by the same people (no storyline connections).

Spiritual sequel to GoldenEye. Starring special agent Joanna DarkT, the storyline, is brought to life by outstanding cinemas and surprisingly good voice-acting. Shooting, with some snazzy new weapons, is still the primary focus of the game, but with all of the tasks and puzzles to get through, you'll have to use your brain as well as your trigger finger to get by. It is in this way, that Perfect Dark, pays the ultimate respect to GoldenEye. Rare took so many steps to differentiate this game from its three year old predecessor, but the one thing that is consistent over both games, is the extraordinary depth and rich gameplay. If you didn't play GE, you might have a hell of a time learning how a game like PD thinks and what kind of behavior is rewarded.

If you have a nintendo 64 then you have this game. If you dont there is no point in having a N64! This is the best game that stands the test of time. Ive been playing it for 10 years now and still have a blast beating my old times, creating simulants and listening to that sexy voice of Joanna Dark "cute, very cute!" "Oh No! The Skedar army in suspended animation!" I dont even like 1st person shooters usually. Dont care for Halos or WW2 games, but this one is awsome! Better even then the 360 version, beat that one entirly and it just sits colecting dust now. So if ya got the old N64 and looking for a great game -get it! Im buying a new N64 for just this game!!

I am a hardcore fps player. This is my absolute favorite for the 64. I have played golden eye and the world is not enough(007 series), Perfect Dark tops them all.

I bought this game because I had played Perfect Dark Zero and was a little disappointed.. Although the game is still very good, I decided to try the first one called just Perfect Dark. WOW!!! If this game only had as good of graphics as Zero did..... Extremely customizable gameplay, bots, "character creation", too many stats for you to even read, AMAZING storyline. If the nintendo 64s controllers had two sticks, thats the only game I would play! Aliens, bad guys, different aliens...
The ONLY downsides to this game is that it has pretty crappy graphics (thats compared to Xbox and 360 though... they're very good graphics for n64), and that to get most of the 'perfect' experience you need an expansion pak.

when I bought the game because it was a classic game from Rare when the N64 was golden. This game was great in is time and still is if you not bother by the fact the gifpics in this game are for the 90's. IT's in the line up in the frist-person game like goldeye or turok.

This is a great game and follow up to Goldeneye 007. There are a couple of levels that are the same as Goldeneye, but there are a ton of new things to go with it too. The expansion pack is a must to play the game though, without it you can only get to about 20% of the games capabilities.

One of the best games out for the N64. Graphics are on very good for the system, gameplay is excellent, and the overall layout is great. A must own for any N64 gamer.

I bought this game for nostalgia of the game. I also bought a Nintendo 64 from a pawn shop just to play this game. The game, in my opinion, is the best nintendo 64 game ever made.
I also own a Wii, and after playing Zelda for the Wii, this game seems to be very retro.

New and sealed are the atractive factor. The game are the best of N64. The genre are awesome. Arrived perfect.

This was a gift for my 18 year old daughter who is a freshman in college. Although I don't know the details, I can tell you that it is a favorite among the college students as a way to unwind and have fun.

This was a christmas gift to a friend. This game is really fun, it has multiple settings, and is a great shooting-type game. It was in great condition!

I purchased two of these for holiday gifts and both recipients were thrilled. They both tell me they are enjoying the game and for the money I paid I think I got a great deal.

I have been investing and reviewing N64 games for almost a year now. As far as first person shooters go, this has been the best I've tried so far. I was a huge fan of Goldeneye 007, but this has blown it away. It is very similar, but it expands the possibilities of a shooter game. With lots of fun extras like tranquilizers, disarming capabilities, and a sentry gun. It's popularity has saturated the market for it as well, this has brought the average selling price down to less than half that of Goldeneye 007. It'd be a great buy for 5 times the price.

I purchased this game as a Christmas gift for my niece. I was very impressed that the game was brand new sealed in original packaging for the price. I don't know very much more about it, since it was purchased as a gift & not for myself to use.
