Awesome!!!!!!!!!! There is everything but the kitchen sink in this album. There’s fast songs, slow songs; there’s classic PJ songs and then there’s some that seem influenced by the Beatles among others. I just love it. I could listen to track 13 on repeat for days and have. I think this album will get even the people who waned from PJ loving them again.

NOTE: You can find PJ merchandise at my store (http://stores.ebay.com/kelshideaway)if you are interested.

I have been a lifelong fan of Pearl Jam. They are my all time favorite band. I know more about them and their songs, than I do any other bands combined. This new album is right up there with their three best, Vitalogy, Ten, Vs., and then this one. The music is rockin, the lyrics are DEEP, and the overall flow of the album is spine-tingling. Still kickin' ass after 16 years!!!

Buy it! It's their most political album yet. The album art is also great! Almost all the songs are good. You might be a little disappointed, but overall, it's good to listen to.

Key Tracks:
World Wide Suicide
Comatose
Gone
Life Wasted
Marker in the Sand
Parachutes
Come Back

Either you like Pearl Jam or you do not. This is another good album. Expect more catchy main stream hooks, boarding onto emo but keeping their grunge sound

Excellent album, great songs from Eddie and band.
Some soft, some more rough spendid songs.
It has been convenient to buy it through e-bay, cut cost, and I had good delivery time.

I WISH I COULD LISTEN TO THIS CD TO REVIEW IT

I wish I could have listened to the CD to review it, but the seller never sent me the item and stole my money. I think E-Bay should worry more about stopping people from ripping people off instead of worrying about reviews.

Quite possibly the best Pearl Jam Album ever!

I enjoy this Album thoroughly. In fact I feel it to be the best Pearl Jam album produced yet to date. I was never a die hard fan of the group, though have listened to them from the beginning. I just like the ways this album flows. It's a real motivator....by that I mean, it has an upbeat that really gets you going. A great workout disc!

  Pearl Jam's Comeback Disc!

Gone are the duldrum lyrics and music of Pearl Jams last 2 studio efforts. PEARL JAM(cd 2006) is more in tune with the earlier Pearl Jam Lyrics and catchy riffs. This CD is a definite for those that collect Good music. The more you listen, the more you will want to hear it. Eddie Vedder and band display their genius---5 Stars here!

Gone, The best song on the CD

I love most of the songs here, people seem to be playing World Wide Suicide the most but my favorite song is Gone. After I watched VH1's Story Tellers and heard what the song was about it made me love it even more. I can't stop playing it. The hype with this album was a little much but it is the best Pearl Jam CD since Ten and for all of us fans it was worth the wait.

Pearl Jam...In Love With This CD!!
Review created: 06/23/06

I heard this was going to be something different from Pearl jam...and it is...but at the same time...it's a lot like old Pearl Jam...which I love. Mike McCready outdid himself with the single "Inside Job"...this is one of the most delightful tracks on this CD. "Parachutes" is a nice melody...taking a different road than most Pearl Jam songs. There's no complaints with this CD. I highly recommend it for one and all!

The LP of course is great. The Extra Disc available to 10c members for pre-ordering is Great. eBay allowing people to sell the combination for above the price paid by 10c members in the presale, not cool. People should go to the tenclub.net or pearljam.com site and purchase via download live recordings rather than giving top dollar to someone on eBay for a CD of one show. Not cool.

If it's Pearl Jam, it has to be excellent. Just like all of their other albums, this one is outstanding. I received the cd in just 3 days, brand new and sealed, for less than I would have paid at a store, or elsewhere online. I am very happy with this purchase.

  Awesome CD

For those of you who like PJ already, this album will not disappoint! For all the new listeners out there, you may want to start off with an album such as 'Vs' or the ever popular 'Ten' before moving onto the newer stuff - not to say that you won't like it, but you should start of with the early grunge sound to truly understand what PJ is all about. No, this review isn't the most insightful, but I just wanted to let everyone know that this is a great CD (I personally like every track) - I hope you enjoy it too!

Pearl Jam's Self-Titled Eighth Album: This Avocado's Got Bite
Review created: 07/19/06
by: shilmafone -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
The first truly great rocking songs Pearl Jam has written in many, many years

Cons:
A little bit of musical boredom shows up...but only a little

It shouldn't have been too hard to see it coming -- all we had to do is look at the first single. Pearl Jam hasn't released a first single that completely rocked out in over ten years. Sure, "Given to Fly" wasn't a ballad exactly, but it starts slow at least, and any song that finds its closest comparison in Led Zeppelin's "Going to California" can't actually be accused of "completely rocking out". Other than that, what do we have? Going backward from Riot Act, the lead singles for the last five Pearl Jam albums have been "I Am Mine", "Nothing As it Seems", "Given to Fly", and "Who You Are"...

  Pearl Jam Comes Back

Pros:
A renewed spirit

Cons:
none

Rejuvenated. That is the word that keeps coming to mind whenever someone asks me what the new Pearl Jam album sounds like. The band truly does sound like they've rediscovered their love of being Pearl Jam. That's not to say their last couple albums were bad or lacking feeling; Binaural and Riot Act both have their share of great songs. It's just that this latest, self-titled effort shows the band recording with the same intensity found in their live performances, something their most recent albums haven't been able to capture. Whereas Riot Act's Bu$hleaguer railed against the president with...

Darkness Comes In Waves, Why Invite It To Stay?
Review created: 04/10/06
by: MattA75 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
song development, unbelieveable lyrics, the constant theme of triumphing over adversity

Cons:
Parachutes is gorgeous but feels out of place, Big Wave is sort of a throwaway

Note: I waited 3.5 years for this thing. You bet your a*s it's a long review! It's hard to believe that it's been over eight years since Pearl Jam released Yield, considered by many of their most loyal fans to be their best record. Since then, the band has been battered: lead singer Eddie Vedder divorced his longtime partner, guitarist Mike McCready battled with the bottle, the entire band watched in horror as nine fans were crushed to death at the Roskilde Festival, and the band took some heavy heat for the song Bushleaguer and how they decided to perform said song live (with Eddie in a Bush.

I waited until now to get into Pearl Jam. I should've known Vedder.
Review created: 07/13/06
by: divad23 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Excellent, urgent rock songs with sweet guitar moments; powerful ballads near the end; intriguing lyrics.

Cons:
Gruff, agitated vocals may take some getting used to. Politics may turn a few listeners off.

I'm not sure why I never got into Pearl Jam until now. They're practically legendary within the world of alternative rock, and there are several songs by the band that I'd recognize if I were to hear them today, and I wouldn't be likely to think, "Oh no, it's that song... somebody turn it off!" What little I knew about the band, I generally had a healthy respect for. They were just on that list of highly respected bands that I never got around to checking out, in terms of sitting down with one of their albums and thoroughly digesting it. R.E.M. was on that list until a few years ago, and now..

Why Pearl Jam should be feeling that little bit more plump and happy right now
Review created: 05/06/06
by: blackstar40 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Several excellent, foot-tapping, adrenaline-rushing, pounding, relentless numbers... with a couple less impressive ones...

Cons:
Perhaps it's not quite the 'return-to-form' diehards would hope for

Of all the bands of the grunge era, there are five that managed back in the 90s to separate themselves from the rest, whether it be by creating something new, opting to inspire revolution, or simply achieving extreme commercial success (in some cases, more after death than before) before that got taken and sucked up into what's now known as post-grunge to keep those masses happy (another story entirely). The five (six, because one was inadvertently added later): Nirvana Pearl Jam Alice In Chains Soundgarden Mudhoney Stone Temple Pilots Why Pearl Jam should be feeling in the primest of those...
