This is a great unit for recording VHS tapes to DVD. The quality and versatility of the playback is excellent and it's ready for HD TV. The Panasonic DMR-ES45VS and the DMR-ES46VS are identical- they even come with the same manual. The only difference is the DMR-ES46VS was made to sell at COSTCO. Ignore the low rating by Scott3291- he was actually providing negative feedback about a seller who apparently wouldn't supply feedback for a transaction- it shouldn't be included as a product review.
The Panasonic DMR-ES46VS DVD Recorder/VCR Combo is not the latest technology and there are newer Panasnic Models available. However, the new models don't do everything the DMR-ES46 can do. It chases play, in other words you can watch one recorded event on a RAm disc while recording another. In fact you can watch and record the same show. The recording quality is superb and the sound is also great. I bought this for these reasons and the seller had a new unit and i think we both got a good deal on the purchase.
i but it to use ,and i did emailed the seller and all he did told me to call panasonic, and in the add it sad 14 days money back garantty, and it died with in one week
great recorder. i also have a philips and this one beats it hands down in every possible way. this is my second one, first stopped reading discs in 6 months, but i did burn 500 dvds plus standard viewing usage. the remote should be back lit with an eject button. all in all very versatile.
Good price and had every thing I wanted on it. It had fast shipping on it and not to bad of a price on the shipping that will be the facter if I buy or not SHIPPING a lot are out of line, I just do not buy it>
Great discription!. The price was excellent for a dvd/Vcr recorder. Has alot of buttons on the remote controller. THe recordings are complicated to record and it's taking me a while. Setup is very easy and i love it!
Product records as advertized. Records both DVDs & tapes. The seller worked with us to pick up the product at the local site. The whole process was seamless. I like the ability to record on DVDs for more long lasting possibilities.
The remot control dont work, and when I buy the DVD I pay because we see the machine is NEW. I need your suport because if we dont have replacement of the control I never buy in Ebay. Jack
I have a lot of family videos to transfer from VHS on to disc. I have put off buying a DVD Recorder / VCR Combo because I was afraid I would get something that I wouldn't know how to use or I would get something that I would have problems with. I am so happy I chose the Panasonic DMR-ES46VS DVD Recorder / VCR Combo. It is a great machine and easy to use. I love being able to copy over family (and friends) VHS videos to disc to give out as gifts.
This is a great product , I recorded a movie on it onto a DVD and it came out just great. I will own this product for years to come,or maybe buy another one like this one. The only problem I have is it does have a long book for the owners manual, but other than that I love this machine...
Simple and easy to use. Records DVDs from VHS, camera cards, or other input. Plays DVDs or VHS tapes. Good quality. Bought it because I needed a DVD player, but now I can record too! Took the memory card out of my camera and it plugged right in! I can put my photos on DVD in a organized way. Great functions and good quality for a reasonable price.
The unit should have been an excellent item as it will record analog and digital to DVD or VHS and to each other. The problem is that the seller said had been checked out an had an on off button problem. That was not all. There was a tape stuck in the VCR and none of the VCR functions worked. Panasonic has stated they will fix it and I have sent it to them on an RMA. I have not heard back from them and it has been several weeks. I have not given the seller any feedback yet. He offered my money back but if Panasonic will fix it I just would want the seller to know that his people that are checking his stuff out are not doing a good job.
I believe I bought this product a month ago.Excellent product.Even though it is refurbished but it works like a brand new.Very e.z 2 use.Good investment
the rermote was broken. I had to buy the remote again. nothing good deal. just more spent money. I better not trust such kind of items, because they can say because of shipping.
i was looking for dvd recorder,I found this one in E bay. The product I bought work very well I like it because the price is cheap and got everything. The E bay seller shipped the product very fast.the only one thing i can't rate excellent because it not work well with the Sony DVD+ R discs.I got to buy dvd-R discs it work well.
I have always been a Sony baby. and planned to go Sony again. then I did my research. and I ever glad I did. The Panasonic DMR-ES46VS DVD Recorder / VCR Combo. is all that and the bag of chips. They are not kidding in the reviews about the manual. take that advice seriously. this manual should be used to line a bird cage. BUT if you keep calm. remember this is a new machine and it is supposto be fun. it really isn't hard to figure out. it makes perfect copy's. I have added my own sound tracks. did editing. and yes even figured out a way to make copy's of the kids movies. NOW i don't have to scream what are you doing to those expensive DVD's. and that in itself is the best reason I can think to get this machine. YOU will never have to holler at the family again for trashing an expensive movie. Imagine the hundreds of dollars in therapy you will save. needless to mention the tears and sad faces saying I didn't mean to. this machine pays for itself.
