I bought a Palm m515. It seemed to be brand new, in the box and shrink wrap. It didn't work and I found out the battery was dead---probably after sitting in a box for five years. I bought the unit to replace an identical item. My six year old battery was fine. I was lucky enough to have someone who could do the tricky replacement of the battery.
It was the second item I bid on; and i thought I was penalized by being a neophyte on ebay both times. I won't be using ebay again any time soon.
I bought this Palm to use with our geocaching and it was perfect for that use. I think the price was reasonable but it lasted less than two weeks. I guess that's a hazard of buying used equipment but it's disappointing that it crashed so quickly. I'll probably take the same risk again and purchase another one.
I decided to buy the Palm m515 because I have a Palm m100 and I wanted to upgrade. I really like that it has a color screen, which my old one did not. I like that it has an external memory card slot, for if you run out of internal memory. I like all the extra features that it has such as: Viewing and editing Word documents, Excel Spreadsheets and PowerPoint projects. It is a slimmer version, which is small and not to cumbersome. I really am happy with this product and to all of those people looking to get there life organized, this is a great buy and has everything you need to do so. I am very happy with my purchase and recommend it to all.
Fantastic PDA, love the original graffiti software, very fast and much more relieable than a windows-based Pocket PC. Much more software is available for Palm than Windows.
I've had palm pilots since they first came out... this one has the sturdy but thin case that I prefer. It is rugged, well designed, the battery never went bad, and it carried my world!!! (I call it my "brain"). I just wish that when palm came out with faster models in the years since, that they would have still used this physical design, as it is the best they've had. Great unit...best I've owned.
