This is a fantastic movie....some children's movies seem to address that demographic only and even then, not in an entertaining way! Over the Hedge however has something for the whole family and would be an asset to your home movie collection!
This Dreamworks production boasts a number of big stars: Wanda Sykes, Steve Carell, Bruce Willis, William Shatner to name but a few!
The premise of the story being the Raccoon...a petty food thief, picks the wrong target when he steals the winter supplies of a bear, and finds himself forced to replenish the food he takes! So, he pays the suburbs a visit and befriends the local wildlife population - who prior to hibernation lived in the wild - and wake up to find themselves fenced out of a new suburbia that emerged over the winter months!!
Our crafty raccoon "helps" them collect food from the human world, the whole time plotting to take it away in order to repay his debt, but as the movie evolves a lesson is learned!
The battle between animal and human life is simply hysterical...this movie takes a tongue in cheek look at suburbia, poking fun at adult behavior!! The comedy will appeal to the younger demographic, but superb writing also places a lot of humor in this movie that is directed at the adult audience - for example, we see a scene of a local driving around in a huge SUV....what one animal questions what it is...the other explains that humans have to have these tanks as they have lost the ability to walk, whilst also poking fun at the sheer size of the vehicle for "one person"!!! It points out many concepts that we see as normal but are actually quite absurd!!
The animated characters are loveable and funny - and the scene where they become accustomed to human food and possessions cannot be missed!!

A GREAT STORY OF ADVENTURE IN A BACK YARD SETTING AND A PARK IN THE CITY. IT LET AS THINK ABOUT HOW MEN IS TAKING THE WILD TO BUILD COMMUNITIES LEAVING THE ANIMALS WITHOUT A HOME.
I LIKE TO LET MY SON KNOW THAT THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEBODY'S HOME IN THE YARD, THAT WE HAVE TO TAKE CARE PLANTS AND TREES AND THIS MOVIE LET CHILDREN THINK ABOUT NATURE AND ANIMALS AND THE CONSECUENCES OF THE BIG CITIES.

This movie is good, not great. Kind of bored me. My two year old will sit through most of it. Lots of famous voices.

I bought it for my daughter's birthday. It is in great condition and she loves it! She raves about how funny it is.

This film made as all laugh from start to the end. I would say it is one of the best films I have seen that is good for both the kids and adults. I give the film a A+.

I bought this cause i wanna see different movies but for lower prices then the crazy pricey stores out there. Movies is way to over priced and on ebay i can find great right prices.

This DVD is great for the whole family! It is approprite for young children, entertaining for older children, and has some "adult jokes" that keep things lively for parents. We bought it because its a great addition to any movie collection and because Hammy is the cutest little squirrel you'll ever see!

i love the movie,plus being a used dvd there was no skips or scratches on the disk..i really enjoyed the movies when it first came out but one of my cousins borrowed the dvd and still hadn't returned it..so when the opportunity came to buy the dvd for a low price i had to take advantage of it..and ever since it recieve the dvd i been watching it over and over again..

Now this was a good movie and very interesting. My duaghter loves this movie. She will sit and watch it over and over again. This is what she watches to go to bed at night

very good show , can watch this one with the children , or whole family , not many shoes like that anymore. i bought it because the children wanted it , now i see why .

Cute story and such cute characters! My kids loved the squirrel and the turtle the best. My kids have watched it several times and continue to watch it. Over The Hedge is one of my kids favorite movies and would recommend it!

Funny and great for adults too. We had rented it so many times, I decided to finally buy it....used ....the way to go with kids.

This was bought for my 5yr old grandson. His mother said he would love to have this, so I bought it "Just Because".
When he recieved it, the response was worth it.
I saw the movie in the theater and was very impressed with it, so it wasn't hard to decide whether to by it.
His mother says he watches it at least twice a week.

Over the Hedge is a cute tale of your everyday critters learning the lessons of domesticated life. RJ the racoon has a run in with a bear whos food he tries to steal, he is forced to trick a bunch of 'hibernators' into helping him collect enough food for the winter (the food is really for the bear). Along the way he teaches the hibernators the way of domesticated scrap eating animals and where to find the best human foods. Despite some trouble with exterminator and a crazy house wife the hibernators teach RJ what real friends do for each other and other lessons of friendship!

A great story, and very funny! Highly recommend!

I bought this movie for my kids. It is not what I expected to receive. I thought I would be getting an original copy but this movie is not authentic. It is a definitely copy yet the seller claims they are region 9??? He should have stated this in his auction.

Seller admitted having problems with the DVD before shipping, giving me an opportunity to choose something else. Whereas, someone else may have sent it and blamed me for the damages.

This movie is hilarious! I saw this when it was out in theaters. And it comes in handy because kids love it and I work at a day care. I bought this movie because it was worth adding to my collection.
