This disc may be something of a standard in the collections of Bluegrass lovers everywhere. If you like Bluegrass and don't have it you should give it a try. Some old and some new songs with enough balance to please even those who don't really care for most Bluegrass music.

Rhonda Vincent - One Step Ahead - excellent bluegrass

Pros: Combines old songs with new ones that sound like standards.
Cons: There were a couple of slow ones that I didn't like very much.
You really can t judge an album by the cover, and One Step Ahead is a sure case in point. If I saw this in the store, I d pass right over and never dream that Rhonda Vincent sings the kind of music I love bluegrass. Fortunately, I can listen to cuts online and decide about music rather than stopping by the store and trying to figure out which artistic vision might front something I d enjoy. On the cover of her latest and I d say best roots country project, Linda looks city goth black leather and clubby shoes with the belly button shining. The street and cars are blurred out almost white like..

Pros: A few truly outstanding numbers.

Over the past few years, I've really gotten into bluegrass music. Maybe it's because of my Virginia upbringing, but there's something about that bluegrass sound that always draws me in. I discovered Rhonda Vincent a couple of years ago and ever since then, I've been collecting her albums and enjoying her excellent musicianship and presence.
