CD - Great Music
My granddaughter started me to using e-bay. I was kind of uneasy at first, but I did it. Every transaction I received has been divine. I ran into some large postage and handling fees on some things. But I had already made my committment.
I will stay an active consumer on ebay and I will thank you for such wonderful shopping trips.

VERY GOODgreat CD. I really enjoy her music and this CD has alot of good beats and songs.Aaliyah has become a timeless singer and i felt the need to have this CD in my collection. Her use of melody and range of singing is wonderful

The Main Idea 1996 was a big year for seventeen-year-old Aaliyah. She broke away from mentor/producer/ex-husband R. Kelly and released her sophomore effort, One In A Million, which featured a much more diverse array of collaborators than her debut, including Jermaine Dupri and Rodney Jerkins. However, what remains gratingly apparent on this record is that Aaliyah still hasn't found her own sound and instead relies on new mentors Timbaland and Missy Elliott to guide her. Though it remains a fan favorite, I consider One In A Million to be Aaliyah's worst effort, simply because it's so bland and.

As an RnB teen star, Aaliyah is, or at least was, a more intruiging proposition than the other light-skinned, thin-voiced females who pose for men's magazines and sing hooks for young men more prone to enthusiastic bursts of offputting elitism than actually making good music. But just why is unclear and difficult to articulate. She may have possessed a slightly superior voice than her (more popular, until her immortalisation due to a tragic death) successors and contemporaries, but her beats-orientated songs rarely proved testament to this fact (exception: "At Your Best"- see her first album).

I am a fan of Miss Aaliyah, and i do like her music, but i won't let that interfere with the review of One in a Million i do have a few moans about the album, but we'll get to that later on. This album was released in 1996, and had a few singles from it do very well on American Charts, however Aaliyah wasn't really that big over here in New Zealand, as Hip Hop and R

I completely forgot about this CD. until the other day. In an effort to get over past relationships, I pulled out this CD to sing along with Aaliyah declaring she was Never Comin Back . I mean, we all need a few songs to sing while we re packing our emotional bags (besides half of the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack). Aaliyah s Never Comin Back has become one of my favorite pop/teeny-bopper courage gatherer. Aaliyah has grown so much in this album from the previous, Age Ain t Nuttin But a Number. It seems that her subject matters and voice have finally caught up with the outwardly mature woman...

Sometimes a music producer accidentally stumbles upon a good thing and simply marvels at the results. This is an obvious reference to R.Kelly and his finding of Aaliyah. Sure , her debut sounds a bit uneven but with the right beats she will be dangerous, as the talent is there. That's what he must have been thinking about "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number". And, true to form, Aaliyah proves fatal on her sophomore "One In A Million" due mainly in part to the "funk twins", Timbaland Moseley and Missy Elliot. With unheard funky, abstract beats, they propel their pupil to dizzying new heights for.
