On Every Street - Dire Straits (CD 1991)

When I was an adolescent, I had little appreciation for this style music. A friend of mine played this at work and I was bored out of my mind. It's not the impatient, immature listener who wants commercial music. But, now that I'm older and have more sophisticated taste, I can not only appreciate this but I could listen to this over and over again. Mark Knopfler's guitar work is phenomenal. It has such a sweet sound and is so intricately woven through the other instruments as if he invented this sound. Umm, oh, yeah, I think he did.? Like any other selection, the better your sound system, the more you will appreciate this. It has some catchy lyrics and songs but is not extremely commercial; yet I think it is fairly accessable.
