BUYERS BEWARE OF NOKIA N95 LISTING !

Nokia N95 phone operates on HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GSM networks and features integrated GPS, a 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, TV-out, 2.6" QVGA screen, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 802.11b/g wireless, built-in stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm audio jack, a microSD slot and 150MB of internal memory. The phone running on S60 software which is based on the Symbian OS. Also included will be the Nokia Web Browser, GPS software with maps for over 100 countries (15 million POI's included), Yahoo! Search and Amazon's MobiPocket Reader.

It's a "must own" phone but be careful when you looking and bidding on all auction for NOKIA N95 phone on ebay now because the phone is not commercially release to the consumers until the 1st quarter of 2007, there are less than 30 units out for testing and sampling. All ebay listing are frauds or phishing from the stolen accounts from the hackers; they will ask buyers to email them before the purchases, the hackers will emails buyers spam mails and offers to conduct business out side of ebay or fake ebay log in page to trick the buyers for username and passwords for their future scams; so before you try to log into your ebay account or paypal account, check the address on the address bar or your browser, it shuold start with something like "https://signin.ebay.com..." for ebay and "https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-run" for paypal, so BEWARE ALL BUYERS.

N95 4.5 rating- close to perfect smartphone
Review created: 04/18/07
57 of 58 people found this review helpful.

I'm a cell phone geek... It's my neverending quest to find the perfect cell phone. It hasn't been built yet, but this model is getting close to that perfect 5 score.

SCREEN: the screen is large and with 16m colors, quite vibrant. It's great that you can rotate the picture to landscape view. Definitely get a screen protector and to save battery life, you can dim the screen (tools>settings>personalisation>display).

CAMERA: Yesss-Lens cover! Superior 5 megapixel camera easy to use and takes excellent photos and video. I don't notice any lag, which others have complained about. I think it's great.

BUILD quality: My slider is well-built with no wobbles. (Some have loose sliders) NOT impressed with the plastic keyboard, navigational pad and the cheap clicky noises. I heard criticism on the quality but didn't think I'd feel that way. I do- and so will you! For a high priced phone, Nokia used cheap components. The keypad is a bit bigger than the N73 but still hard to text.

MUSIC, VIDEO and TV OUT- you can use a standard headphone jack, A2DP too! It comes with a cable to hook up to your TV (too cool) and the music player/sound quality is very good. Speakerphone is good. Lots of extras!

WEB BROWSING, WIFI- I love the ease of WIFI- (setting up access points are so simple), excellent web browser (no wap browser). A+++ rating

RADIO FREQENCY (RF)- Of course it's important that the phone works! It does! Very very good antenna- it even makes calls in one area that has no bars.

GPS- You need to be outdoors to access satellites and to get voice navigation you have to pay (subscribe). Downloading maps takes time. But I still like this extra function.

SYMBIAN OS- I love Series60v3. There are so many great programs and games- whatever you want you can find and use with this phone.

BATTERY- Bad. The phone sucks the life right out of the battery. Be prepared to charge it every day. We can only hope that Nokia gives us a better battery (like the awesome one on the N73).

So, my final score is a 4.5. Poor battery life and cheap external parts prevent it from getting a higher score. (And for the money, we expect more) Overall, very satisfied. I'll keep this phone until the E90 is released! LOL

Please feel free to email me with any questions.
Thanks for reading, hope it's helpful to you! :)

From the WiFi to its CLOSED operating system which helps keep my phone secure. I don't trust an iPhone as far as I could flush one down the toilet.

Review created: 04/26/08

The good: The Nokia N95 cell phone boasts a 5-megapixel camera that produces good-quality photos and videos. It comes with advanced multimedia capabilities and has a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Symbian smart phone also features integrated GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and an innovative two-way slider design.

The bad: The N95 lacks support for U.S. 3G networks; standby battery life is poor; and performance is somewhat sluggish. The hardware feels a bit cheap, and the sliding mechanism could be more secure. It's also very expensive.

The bottom line: With a 5-megapixel camera, advanced multimedia capabilities, and GPS, there's no doubt that the Nokia N95 is one of the most feature-packed smart phones to date, but poor battery life and sluggish performance make it hard to justify the high price tag.

Specs: Band / mode: WCDMA (UMTS) / GSM 850/900/1800/1900; Talk time: Up to 240 min; Combined with: With digital camera

  Nokia N95, excellent cellular

I bought a Nokia N95 a month ago and I pleasured with the features available on it. It has ALL, really ALL. A 5MP camera with flash, video camera, GPS, WIFI, radio, MP3, MicroSD slot and more and more. The size is a little big but the few weight compensate it. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you have some money for buy it.

I had a palm based PDA cell phone for 4 years and didn't think I could live without a stylus for the graffiti feature but after having this phone for 4 months, I don't miss the stylus at all. This phone does absolutely everything plus more and I keep learning new features all the time. The battery life isn't an issue for me since I have a charger in my office and next to my bed. I got a great deal on ebay for only $380 from Mobilepc and it had a one-year warranty. THANKS MOBILEPC!

Great phone with loads of features
Review created: 04/14/08
by:

I bought the N95 after looking for a phone with wifi, GPS and mp3 player features. I had to make sure I found the model made in Finland, which had the wifi, and GPS. The first thing I did was to upgrade the firmware, which brings it more inline with the N98 8Gb and improved the battery life. Next I purchased a 4Gb memory card. Now I had time to play with the phone. It took a while to get use to all the features and to customise menus and settings to suit my needs but now I would be lost without it. The wifi works a treat allowing me to browse the net and check emails via wireless broadband connections. I found the GPS works ok but lacks precision.

The phone is now my mp3 player and it sounds great. The slider, which reveals the media controls, is a neat feature, which makes it easy to forward, pause and play etc. I bought the phone second hand and the ear piece was not very clear but I was able to purchase a new one for a few dollars and it was a piece of cake to install.

I could have spent more on a N95 8Gb but was not necessary for my needs and the memory and firmware upgrade bridged the gap. It is a good phone especially since the price is dropping.

Good phone not so great battery
Review created: 04/11/08
by:

The phone is good. A little awkward to learn but once you do it works well. The battery is not enough if you use wifi, GPS, camera but just buy a backup and it is perfect. GPS is not that great. Will not show direction of travel so you have to always orient to the north(or maybe I just haven't figured how to do it). Camera is good but some movies just blank when you try to playback. All around a good phone but opt for the 8 gig internal memory if you can afford it.

  Defective Nokia Knock-Off
Review created: 04/09/08
by:
cred5964 ( 1 )

This item was a knock-off of the Nokia N95. Upon receiving the item: 1) It did not have the Nokia sealant sticker of authenticity; 2) The "Get Started Guide" was missing; 3) The CA-75U cable was missing; 3) Nokia Warranty Information was missing; 4) The AC Charger did not work; 5) The camera activation switch did not open the lens cover; 6) The zoom key did not operate; 7) The "Secondary Camera" did not operate; 8) The quality of the "Main Camera" was less than desirable, especially for a 5 megapixel camera, the resolution was atrocious; 9) The cell phone had little and no reception bars most all of the time.

I have since purchased a Nokia N95 from Tiger Direct and am most happy with this purchase; picture quality as well as phone reception is incredible. I am satisfied with the Tiger Direct Nokia N95.

E-Bay's response, as well as PayPal's response was remarkably excellent especially when I reported the problems incurred with the item purchased from Electronics1rus.

  Nokia N95-1
Review created: 04/08/08

The Nokia N95 comes in four versions. The N95-1, -2, -3, -4. This review is regarding the N95-1 and N95-3. It is silver with a plum back casing, and has limited internal memory with a microSD slot. Currently, microSD cards hold up to 8gb, so when the N95-1 is mated with an 8gb card, it has just as much memory as an N95 8bg (N95-2 and N95-4), but ends up being cheaper and leaves you with the option of further expanding the memory as larger microSD cards are released.
The N95 is truly the most advanced smartphone on the market today. With WiFi, GPS, a 5 megapixel camera featuring Carl Zeiss optics, and an array of other features, it trumps competitors such as the iPhone. It uses the Symbian S60 v3 operating system, with a huge developer base, so there are literally thousands of third-party applications available (both freeware and for purchase). The screen is quite large, and is crystal clear for watching DVDs when converted to .flv or other files (many video players are available).
There really are no shortcomings to the Nokia N95. It does not have a touch screen, so that may be a deciding point for some. But having a keypad is cruical in my opinion, and most phones with touchscreens lack a keypad or keyboard. The user interface is very customizable and easy to use. Overall, it is the most feature-packed phone on the market, at least until the N96 comes out soon.

  Nokia N95 made in China
Review created: 04/06/08
by:

(I wrote this as a guide too.. sorry for the duplicate)

Well, as i am sure you are all aware the "copies" of the Finland made N95s are no longer all that easy to spot. nokLa is no longer present, the buttons match the first version of the n95, the camera has a screen protector, no touch screen, etc. The primary difference is that wifi and gps is no longer present.

I purchased my n95 (made in china) for 205 after shipping.

To be quite honest, my only concern is that the phone isn't a quadband phone (in the listings it was listed as a tri band) so my reception isn't as great as it should/could be. Now, with this said I am unsure if any of the "copies" are truly quad-band phones or even if my phone is a legit triband; i have reception in the US--so i must have either the 850 or 1900 band as i see it. A few of the menu options are different as well.

This review is for any of you out there thinking of purchasing an N95 "copy". As i see it, the phone works fine. It may not have its full potention, but to be honest i never planed to get internet or gps for the phone. I am unsure if the applications (downloads which can be transfered via the SD card) will work on the copies yet, that is still to be determined (feel free to pm me with any inquiries as to an update).

Following is a list of what differs from the original (aside from the physical appearance of the phone):
- Camera is not 5mp
- Menu differs
- No GPS or wifi
- Less reception???
- The test codes don't work (aside from the *#06# code)

Good phone, Nokia makes them best!!! Sturdy body in the front, but the back of the phone is plastic which makes it nice and lightweight, however the texture almost feels rubbery, sorta weird. Tons of great features you really have to look into each one carefully to fully utilize all the phone has to offer. If in USA make sure to get Finland made version and NOT Chinese version of phone as Chinese version does not have GPS or WiFi!!!!

Just take 2 minutes and read this. This is very EASY to do! It literally takes 10 minutes to setup. Simply follow the steps below. I promise you, this is 100% real. Here is what you do. Click on the link below, register, pick an account type (referral is the easiest) and complete just 1 offer (Very important that you complete the 1 offer otherwise your account will sit in limbo until you do). The best offer to do is STAMPS.com. Its free, all you need to do is register and follow the instructions. And you’re on your way to your free prize for just completing this offer!

There are plenty of cool offers to choose from such as Blockbuster online, Stamp.com, Netflix, Gamefly which are services you would regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use them to get a free PS3, flat screen TV, iPHONE, ipod or cash (I did the Stamps.com for a 4 week free trial and it is free! I don’t have to do anything with it). Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you. After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer 5-14 people or friends (depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link (just post the same thing as I have on eBay or any other message board, and you'll get your referrals before the auction even ends.)

Then they will ship your selected item for free. No Joke, 100% REAL!!! The reason these companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all the referrals. All you have to do is post it on EBAY! They use us as advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money which goes toward yours and my free gift. These are legit companies such as Blockbuster, Netflix, Gamefly etc... You can copy my listing if you want. You must use your own authentic link though. You will get your own personal link after your orders placed.

PROS: 8GB memory ; 5MP camera; Wi-fi; GPS. Video capture.
Small and lightweight compared to my TREO 600

CONS: built in memory; hard time connecting to e-mails; GPS set-up; PRICEY. For the price, you might think twice before buying this phone. Keypad are bit small for texting compared to a N75's keypad.

Overall Satisfaction (scoring from 1-5) I will give it a 4.

THIS PHONE IS AN EXCELLENT ADVANCED PHONE THAT HAS EVERY FEATURE ONE COULD WANT ON A PHONE(gps, email, mp3, 5magapixel camera, videocalling etc) THE RECEPTION ON THIS PHONE IS EXCELLENT AND THE GPS IS ACCURATE. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WITH IT IS THE BATTERY LIFE, IT IS NOT A PROBLEM SO LONG AS IT IS CHARGED DAILY, BUT IT COULD BE THE PERFECT PHONE WITH A BETTER BATTERY. I AM THRILLED WITH THIS PRODUCT AND IT HAS BEEN A WHIEL SINCE IVE SAID THAT ABOUT ANYTHING NOKIA. I WOULD DEFINETLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO IS TECH SAVY.
